My biggest concern is the small parallel group of cells, 4P. This means a single weak cell, 1 weld connection broken out of 800 in a 400 cell pack - capacity is dropped to 75% if the BMS even allows it to continue to run on a group of 3 that will be overworked 33%. I also haven't seen or heard...

It seems like an ultra bee is direct competition since it isn't full size. Sure, dust has more peak power but continuous power is where I'm guessing they are fairly equal. Would be interesting to see a comparison by some 3rd party experienced riders.

For something they are wanting to manufacture and sell... I would recommend anything below 5kwh needs to be swappable.

It almost looks smaller than a full sized bike... Ultra bee sized... in which case since both are made with a significant amount of chinese components what is the reason for the price premium? If the claim here is "American Made", more than half of the bike should be from that origin.

Snowmobiles use a silent style chain drive that is smooth on the outside so it isn't bumping across the tensioner. When you have a billet machined motor mount/drive housing, cheap and easy isn't a good argument for your drive 😁 Its a great looking build, I'll be interested to see it finished!

All that fancy aluminum machining and fab work and you use a roller chain/tensioner for a primary reduction? A custom cog tooth belt or silent style chain is what should be there. At very least use a double strand #35 in an oil bath...

10:1 includes the chain drive, so an Alta would be closer to 14:1 total. Alta's motors are smaller with much less torque than the ME1304 or similar.

Don - Yes, I have seen that motor, in fact I have one new in box for another project. Torque constant is similar and peak power is lower, but it does spin faster.
