They are super reliable. A buddy has one and absolutely beats the living sh$t out of it. You need sirrus suspension upgrade and 21/18 wheels with good tires. I'd look for a used one once you know what to look for, save you some cash.

Buy a surron light bee, super fun fo trails like you are describing, light and easy to manage, great bike to build skill and they are super cheap now.
