I've been through settings, google and a few other places.

Does anyone know the trick to turn on the MX Varg microphone???

You should ask Stark for a new phone. They promised a fully-functional phone with the bike. Nobody else seem to have microphone problems. I am not aware of any microphone mute function on an Android. It is just your phone.
