I also use the Shinko "Fatty" front tire. Standard tubes at 10 psi. Mostly rocky terrain. So far so good.

How about plastic welding? Can plastic cracks be fixed that way?

I use the Fastway footpegs in the lowboy position (I'm tall), not sure if they can be fitted to raise their height. Also, try shaving some foam from the seat to lower its height. This is the most common mod for shorter riders, without adjusting the suspension.
