Questions from a potential owner #2

Plastics are not the same per se (we made some material changes), but they are interchangeable. The MX and MXR have the same travel even if the shock total length is slightly different. The trilink is different though (and therefore has a different ratio).

Which maps are for what? (MX, MXR, EX)

One thing to remember is that power sliding a bike feels fast but is slower than having traction.

Which maps are for what? (MX, MXR, EX)

    From the MXr quickstart guide.

    Alta Fast charger

For safety reasons, I cannot tell you how to wire the adapter, however your electrician should be able to help. As for providing an adapter, we are working hard on making a 120V cable that you can swap back and forth with the 240V when need be. And here is the difference between bridged and not...

    The Alta Factory LHRB

The LHB kit is currently only available through dealers. There will come a time we will also sell via an online store, however I will still recommend going through dealers as they will be able to give you better pricing. And it does away with the pedal.

Battery Technology and Best practice battery care

According to my engineers, it won't really matter. I would recommend you get used to how the bike feels when it is nearing depletion though, so you know what to expect when you're out and about.

    Alta Fast charger

Please do NOT purchase this adapter, it will not work. Whichever adapter you choose must not be bridged.

Battery Technology and Best practice battery care

The only recommendation is to leave the pack at about 50-60% charge if you plan on letting the bike sit for a long time (months). It would be good to check in every now and "top off" when needed. Other than that, the pack will protect itself from harm, so no need for special care.

One of the first Redshifts out in the wild is mine...

I am sad to report that MX03 has also been sacrificed on the altar of the God of Speed.

    Low coolant in new MXR

Thank you for your input. We are working actively on fixing the service manual, and this one is definitely on the list. Hopefully we can get it done very soon.

    Low coolant in new MXR

You can do it 2 ways: 1 - you can drain all the coolant and refill with 750mL to make sure you have the proper amount. 2 - you can top off until you see the coolant in the port then drain a bit to leave room for expansion. The tools are not necessary, they would just make your life easier.

    Low coolant in new MXR

No, it will be fine: the pump will circulate the air until it ends up in the expansion chamber.

    Low coolant in new MXR

The adapter is available through the dealer of your choice: part number 7703032-00 (MSRP is $46.80). I would recommend getting the funnel as well so you can just let the bike do the work for you (the funnel will hold the whole volume). PN 7702897-00, MSRP $68.55. However I would recommend you...

    Motor warning due to overheat

Hi everybody! Copy/paste from another post regarding the coolant: Hi there. I have been lurking around but I figured I would jump since it seems there are questions about the cooling system. While it is possible this step was missed on your bike, it is extremely unlikely; did you see any...

    Low coolant in new MXR

Hi there. I have been lurking around but I figured I would jump since it seems there are questions about the cooling system. While it is possible this step was missed on your bike, it is extremely unlikely; did you see any coolant pooling under the bike? The reason you cannot see the coolant in...
