    Electric RMZ

So @riverin have you rebuilt you bike yet? Did you get CSI Canada to figure out the cause of the problem with the batteries? Were you able to salvage a lot of the parts? This home building battery maker would like to figure out as many clues before anyone else has a similar problem. We are...

    KX100 Electric Pit Bike

I built this for a friend in about 6-7 weeks. It started life as a 1991 KX80, was converted to big wheels some where along the line. My friend put new tires on it and had the suspension gone thru. Gave it to me. Now after he get it back, he is going to ride it a bit and the tear it down and...

Swedish electric motorbike maker CAKE lands $60M funding round

My friend rode one at Hollister off road park. He was not impressed. Uncomfortable riding position, and the price is stupid for what it is. They are trying to get them for the rangers to ride. The SurRon is so much better for a lot less. or a regular pit bike modified to electric by or with...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

Great job Dain. I know how much wok that is. I wish, like you say if we could get one manufactured, and available for 500-600 bucks. That would make builds easier. In the last 5 -6 weeks I built this from scratch. A KX100 Pit bike with a QS138 70H V3 gear reduced motor. What a blast to ride...

    The R pack wirebond issue

As far as resoldering the wire bond back on, some one mentioned lower temp solders. The Tin / Lead 60/40 melts at 374 degrees. ( you can get it at Ace Hardware Alpha Fry 3/4 oz Repair Solder 0.05 in. D Tin/Lead 60/40 1 pc - Ace Hardware). Lead free solder melts at 430 degrees. I built a...

The New Sound of Silence or This is what your future E YaMoto may Sound Like

I found this on Thumper talk. An interesting thing. That is one of the most common comments, " But I love the sound of a Performance ICE motor!!" This sounds like you can put any type of sound in your car, or possible outside if your trying to impress some... I forgot the link. αlive -...

    2004 ECRF

Dain have you looked at the ME1803. According to John at Motoenergy, it will spin up to 8000rpms. He says also that at 100V it will spin 6000 rpm. It should also bolt right in. It is watercooled and has a center magnet rotor. John can give you more info if your interested.

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

Yea, I am thru with the Kelly. I am tired of it. It is history. My buddies ECRF felt so much better than my Kelly. About the same power, but smooth delivery and NO cutouts. I cannot live with that. Did you look at that article, the inerts of the QS motor look real promising. Maybe we can...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

Here are some pictures of the gear reduction on the QS138 70H V3. Just for information. I am thinking of using this motor for a Husqvarna 65 conversion. It looks very robust for 15KW power. The ME1304 has some major torque.( I rode my buddies ECRF last weekend with ME1304 and it felt good...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

Yes that does look really good. The gear reduction is the way to go. And the ME motors give you a lot of options, with the same shaft diameter and bolt pattern.

    2004 ECRF

Bob did such a nice, clean conversion. It really felt good. His controller works so much better than mine. My Kelly controller is junk. The ASI controller worked real smoothly. And like Bob said thanks to @Mark911, your help tuned it in. I had a really fun ride on it on the Vet ( I am one)...

Were Code 36 MXR Warranty Replacement Batteries Still Susceptible to the same Wirebond Failure?

I agree with @Mark911 on the fact that the Wirebond will fail when a cell fails regardless of manufacturing flaws. It is the indicator that a cell has shorted, or gone bad. My first lithium pack I built were 16 LiFePo4 Prismatic 40AH cells. If one failed, the pack would still work, at a...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

I am rebuilding my 2008 KTM and will have a complete mount kit for the chromoly KTM frame, including battery mounting parts. It might fit your KX frame. I rebuilt the complete system that I have had running for over 5 years, am selling that. I am building a new setup for that bike and I am...

    German PohlBock

This looks like a good mid power system for your Yamaha frame, Bayodome. About 30KW is about MAP 3 on an Alta, and that is good on a track, at least on the Alta, and my riding ability. MAP4 for me would need a new skill set. I have a friend who wants me to Electrify an older Maico, and I have...
