Hi Rob, The updates and other issues all have to go through the dealer. That being said, there aren't many, and most bikes are trouble free. Naturally, we hear more about the minority that are faulty. My best suggestion is find a local motorcycle dealer, and perhaps get them to start selling...

I have the rekluse rear brake handlebar kit installed. It keeps the foot brake in addition to the hand lever. Almost never use the foot brake. I'd go with the Alta kit.

I did not have any throttle issue with my 2018 EX, but I was contacted by Alta and was specifically asked to update the firmware asap

I think the update is relevant to older models as well. I got an e-mail yesterday, asking me to update ASAP my EX.

Although I just updated my firmware, I got an e-mail today from Alta asking me to update it again because there is a new bug fix that was released 5 days ago... (Perhaps the throttle bug?)

Isn't the throttle made by Domino? They make most of the higher ends electric bikes throtlles, such as Energica. On my previous 2014 zero, I installed a domino throttle. Domino Twist-Grip Throttle with Microswitch

I think the soft suspension adds to the low clearance, especially when the rider is on it.
