That’s a pretty good build - do you still have it - can you provide some details on the battery you used / controller etc
Also how does it compare to your mxr
I like it - was hoping you could also slim the width down making the bike more narrow by the knee area - the stock Alta shrouds really flare out for no reason - basically an almost flat sheet of plastic.
Great work so far
Looking more closely at the design I really like the simplicity - looks like common common components like motor and controller - ideal placement of electric motor right at swing arm pivot - quick change battery - steel frame - like it
Would really like if the shrouds were very narrow - the Alta frame is a nice slim design but the shrouds are too wide in my opinion - also need to get rid of those ribs that hurt you knees
Maybe copy something like an early 2000’s KX shroud which is basically a flat piece of plastic
Wow that bike is very trick and sano (80’s references) - could you send a little information about the bike, the motor you used, the battery and how you made it, controller model, HP etc
Great job
I bought a Lenovo with Linux mint operating system. I did all the install steps but when I got to the point to open the engineering file I couldn’t figure out how to do it - The file is on the computer but I can’t figure out how to open and install it
Any help is appreciated
In my opinion for motocross and trail riding to survive bikes need to go electric - nobody wants constant thundering noise in there back yard - heck even Mat’s cows are OK with his Alta whizzing by.
I have installed the squadron sport on an EXR and it works. When I tried the squadron pro it flashed and then went off - must be some programming limiting the power output. Also Baja Designs sells a 3 prong adapter that allows you to plug into the Alta wiring harness with no modifications
Gigavac quote for battery contactors and some internal pictures of the BCU - apparently a difficult job to change the BCU with safety issues due to high voltage - others in the forum have done the BCU swap and recall seeing a video
As others have stated you should by a battery BCU off eBay from liquid performance and you will also need new battery contractors from Gigavac as its is too hard o salvage them from your existing battery as they are epoxied in. I have a quote from Gigavac if you end up needing it
