Sur-Ron Boom Bee (Storm Bee) electric motorcycle spy photo's soon released

Wonder if there was any knowledge / component sharing with these two Chinese moto manufacturers: CX Motorcycle – Built To Last & https://dirtbikemagazine.com/2019-gpx-moto-tse250r-chinese-built-2-stroke-two-stroke-tuesday/

EcoBikeAdv to open an e-bike/e-moto park in the sierras

There's been an influx of skate parks popping up in Brooklyn and Queens. Something like this could be feasible at a big empty lot somewhere in outskirts of Brooklyn or Queens, even if just for a summer pop up.

Sur-Ron Boom Bee (Storm Bee) electric motorcycle spy photo's soon released

IIRC, the law is that - for full size motorcycles with automatic transmissions - that a handlebar-mounted rear brake can be a supplemental feature, though a pedal mounted rear brake is the primary mechanism. Here's some detail on it with a helpful table:

Sur-Ron Boom Bee (Storm Bee) electric motorcycle spy photo's soon released

If they do intend to export to USA, and be road legal, they'll need a foot pedal operated rear brake in stock trim. Ride Cake's Kalk& has a pedal operated rear brake, though their off road only model has two levers - this was done primarily for the USA market, as the EU enforces no such mandate...

    SUR-RON MX

Seems clear that Booom Bee should be (based on pure specs) better than the most recent iteration of the Freeride E, though unknown if the other bits (suspension, brakes, etc.) will result in a patently better package. Would also think any update to the Freeride E (MY '18, I believe, was the...

    Withdrawn WTB KTM E-XC FREERIDE

Looks a long ways from you, and not sure if it's still available, but Solid Performance KTM in Downingtown, PA may have a first get Freeride-E for sale. Bummer that it's the first gen battery (and brakes), but do believe their 2018 revamped pack with Sony cells is an easy swap (should you be...

    SUR-RON MX

Totally. Torque is the primary fun factor spec for electric, especially in urban applications. It's not at all surprising that this coming launch from Sur Ron is inferior to Alta in pure performance specs - that will likely continue to be the case for several years to come, barring any crazy...

    SUR-RON MX

Interesting! So would appear to be a ~4.6kWh pack on the high end, if these leaked specs are accurate. Certainly higher than the Freeride’s 3.9kWh pack, but still considerably lower than the R pack. Really looks like an EXR met a Freeride E, with battery position suggesting quick-swap...

    SUR-RON MX

Thanks for those details! Looks fun. Likely somewhere between a Freeride and an EXR, though would hope more than 20HP, and hopefully no transmission. The near vertical rear shock setup somewhat reminiscent of early '80s Uni-Trak and Full Floater suspension. Get ready, Luna Cycles...

    SUR-RON MX

But, also, USA doesn't see the homologated version of the Light Bee, so this all could be an EU tease.

    SUR-RON MX

Per their Facebook, 72V and 90V options coming in both MX and homologated versions, promising greater range and "more price competitive" than Alta, though Trump China tariff war may negate that price-point advantage. Will be interesting to see where it lands. Alta will most certainly continue...

    Spanish buyer

Bultaco has been trying to come back as a pedal-assist e-bike brand. Just don't think they'd have the money for this. Also, in Spanish, Alta means high, I think?
