Cheap replacement mask for my EXR

I wasn't a huge fan of the "stock" EXR mask. I hit a tree and damaged the bezel so I found a cheap replacement on Amazon and fabricated up some mounts out of a 2x4 galvanized bracket. It's not the prettiest job, but so far its withstood some small jumps and general banging around the trails so far. I haven't found a light bulb that will work with it, so I have no idea if the diffusion pattern is any better, but I'm hopeful it will be better than the micro lens the stock mask had.

I also picked up a cheap set of bash guards (grand total was $58 for the mask and guards) and they're pretty functional so far.

Did your mask bolts come out easily? Mine seem to have something on the threads making it very hard to turn, even after running them back and forth a few times.

The mask bolts on my EXR came out without problem. I will note that those bolts and so far almost every fastener I have removed on the ALTA appear to have some type of Loctite applied during assembly so they never just spin out with your fingers. IMO this represents a high quality product and commendable attention to detail in a dirt bike so no complaints about the extra effort in disassembly from me.

The mask bolts on my EXR came out without problem. I will note that those bolts and so far almost every fastener I have removed on the ALTA appear to have some type of Loctite applied during assembly so they never just spin out with your fingers. IMO this represents a high quality product and commendable attention to detail in a dirt bike so no complaints about the extra effort in disassembly from me.

Its locpatch which came on the bolts...quite fun to remove when disassembling

Yes, they had locktite on all of the ones I've removed so far. Kind of a pain, but I'd rather put up with tight screws over missing screws any say of the week

Thanks! Not the best once you get up close and personal, but not bad for a 30 minute fab job. I plan on making it more permanent when I can figure out how to mount a KTM fender to it. The SE apparently uses a white front fender but may need to drill and trap a couple holes in the front of the bottom triple clamp to finalize installation.

When you do get the katoom fender mounted, please post up a pic. I like the look of your head light fairing over the stock one.

We already had a member get fed up with the poorly designed stock fender brace and replaced everything with Husky parts;

Yeah, i'm getting a little tired of it as well. I have a spare set of triple clamps i'll be modifying to accept the KTM front fender and number plate.
