Mine has 61 hours with no brake downs And my sons is 55 hours.

And we never ride with tools LoL

Of course, we done our pre-homework of knowing the machines limits before getting them. I’m older now, so my other bikes sitting beside it in the garage are a kdx-200, Drz-250 and a Te-310. Just sold a 250x and a 350xcf too. We will probably do a few hare scrambles and maybe a couple gncc rounds on these. Thus far they are pretty cool !

They never seems to be a “one bike for it all.” When I raced Offroad competitively I ran a yz250f at some tracks and then a yz250x at others. And we always had to get the suspension re-done and add bigger fuel tanks to those bikes too. The new kx250x is awesome … but first thing you have to do is add a bigger tank to it if you want to finish a 2hr event with out stopping.

These bikes are definitely heavy to move around, and I still feel the weight in some places riding too … but my main complaint thus far is the hard seat LoL

If I bought this because I thought it would finish a 3 hour hare scramble, then I would be disappointed. But, there was plenty of info out there on how long they would last with different level riders. At my pace now, Im pretty sure I can finish a 2hr event tho 😏

Ohhh yeah My son also has one of those Electric and Co kitted yzf bikes too. We bought it used.

It is an 07 yzf and we had the suspension re-done for woods, added a kickstand and a nice seat cover. Only has (3) power modes set at 20,30,40. It is much lighter, and has a ton more comfortable seat so I actually like it better LoL

But, Even tho it has a 6500 battery, it won’t last near as long as the Starks. We bought used so I don’t know the hours or how it was kept up. On a slow pace hard enduro style trail, The same 3.5 hour ride that dropped our Starks to 70% dropped it down to 20 !

It’s still a trick little bike tho… I wish I had a way to weigh them, but it feels 40 lbs lighter!

I have been riding a long time too
No way i could even get close to finishing a 2 hour hare and hound
The surron maybe if i eek it out a bit

My best range figures come out as 1.5 hours
worst 12 percent 1 lap of the local mx track set on 60
dte 32 minutes from 100 to 0
I have had pretty much every other problem noted by others
no drivetrain issues
the overwhelming problem for this bike is weight
It carries it up high as well making it feel even heavier
You can tell me otherwise untill you are blue in the face
Fact is the minimum weight allowed for this bike is 123kgs
and it is too much of a disadvantage
I love electrics with the rear handbrake and seamless power
point to point speed
I rate my surron ultra bee as the best dirt bike i have ever ridden overall
zero problems in nearly 2 years.
Rinse it off charge and ride
If there was a proper electric class i would probably just hot it up and race it
spare high end battery sirius suspension etc
etc
The 450 is still way more practical to ride mx on
and dumping fuel in it and the 501 takes seconds with a mate standing by
The stark is a good first effort
but now is the time to build a fan base before the big manufactures open fire
Who knows the plan maybe to just sell it on like the retail parts business.

Mate you've been posting all over this supposedly "123 kg FIM minimum weight", just so you know it has only been introduced specifically for FIM Superenduro as a preemptive penalty to limit the Varg supposed technical advantage over ICE. Initially they were also limited to 48 hp and there were talks about limiting torque as well.

This was way over the top and has been relaxed 3 times during the competition, final technical rules for electrics were:
minimum weight 117 kg an no power limit

In short this has nothing to do with Varg design or limitations, these were limitations imposed on Stark to be allowed to compete with ICE.

The Stark MX weighs 118kg to the bloody dot when new. That you swapped out tubes and probably tires is not Stark lying about the weight.

Very true, the 1st gen powertubes were a joke. But they have updated them. They all started leaking at the rimlock. Now the tubes are a tad thicker and have a rubber on the place over the rimlock and surprise... they do last now in MX duties.
Will send you a picture of the first (wich i destroyed in days) and the current one.

About it does not making 80 hp. It actually does or does not depending where you measure... At the motor shaft it does, same like all ICE's are telling the hp at the crank. In racing mode it indeed makes less since power at the motor shaft is limited to 60hp for MX1 or 48hp for MX2. No lying there either.

My experience is similar. I ride mine mostly in hard enduro and trail riding. I have long left the track.

I was so pleased with my bike that after my first MX got stolen I replaced it with the exact same thing through my dealer and insurance settlement. I could have spent more and gotten an EX but my MX was just about perfect for my riding.

My experience with pushing my Stark came while riding in the extremely muddy gnarly northeast swamp land. I had get offs where the handlebars were submerged in deep wet mud and the slop was able to invade the powerswitch --this causes havoc. The powerswitch is not that well sealed on the MX and dirt can invade it and once it is, there will be problems. The good thing is it is a super easy replacement.

Also dirt and mud can invade the throttle, it is worthwhile to remove it and clean & lube the bars where it rotates. Working on all this is pretty easy, throttles on my ICE bikes were always a dread. For most peripheral parts on the Stark it is plug and play.

You must ride a lot harder than me. I don't ride MX anymore --hard enduro, trials, slow gnarl, and etc. Limited WOT.

I am sure the 450 is probably better for what you do that bike was years in the making. I still think for non MX the Stark is pretty competitive. I like my Stark better than my KTM 300 2T for most of the riding I do. And for a lot of conditions the Stark is way better than a 450 MX bike --say tight single track or low speed chug in the gnarl. And the power delivery on demand is better than most other bikes (E or ICE) that I have ridden.

I think some of the coming changes in battery tech will be game changers. What would be great would be if Stark can pull off a battery upgrade for previous owners, a bolt in lighter battery with better range would be awesome.
