My thoughts on EX OR MX version VARG For MX only riders. Most of us are once a weekers at best. IMO, I think buying the EX version taking off lights putting on mx front number plate might just be the ticket. You get more compliant frame, better waterproof harness, updated battery. When it comes to suspension for us average vet riders it just might be good. Or your just a re-valve away from it being great. 18 vs 19 rear is personal preference and can be swapped out. When it comes to resale, heres where it gets good. You can sell it to either enduro riders or Mx guys/gals. You still have the light kit. Now this is all mute if Stark comes out with updated MX bike. Which I hope they do and I would be first in line. I’m waiting till early spring to make my best educated decision. Thoughts?

I’d say it depends on price as well, if you can get an mx version for 3k less then that’s a factor as well … I am not convince that the frame has been changed or what has changed ?! The rest of the points are valid and the EX is a nice upgraded bike … my mx was to stiff for enduro riding so I have revalved this with a specialist and the bike is so much better !

3k less is enticing till you read on forums the problems from not so great waterproofing connectors etc. On the frame I’m sure the average rider wouldn’t be able to tell on the flex. But the clock is ticking for stark to announce updated mx version. Dust, ebmx, flux, Kove, and a few other companies coming out with full varg size or the perfect size for guys gals under 5”10” The Ultra bee size with out the double the ultra bee price tag of upgrades. Not to mention Honda electric CR coming soon. Which will open the flood gates for the other Japanese companies to show up with their electric dirt bikes. Kinda Reminds me when the 4 stroke displaced the 2 stroke.

Honda has been playing with an electric prototype for at least 5 years, but I haven't heard any reliable info on a production bike.
Have you?
First presented to the public in 2017, not one specification has ever been communicated (hopefully it has changed a bit since 2017!), not any date of public release nor confirmation it would be the base for a production bike.

Still think Honda will race 2026 MXEP though that doesn't mean a production bike would be available by that time.

Correct on all accounts! Honda raced it this year in Europe. (enduro). Honda does have a reputation on working on things then killing them and not bringing to production. They did that with their great World Cup winning DH bike. Then scuttled it. But, other manufacturers of e dirt bikes will be introducing their bikes to the public this year. Dust, Kove, Flux, and others.
