How can you charge a spare battery off the bike?

How can you charge a spare battery off the bike? If you had a spare battery how could you charge it without putting it actully in the bike? I doubt the battery leads would reach to the spare battery sitting along side the bike?
As I understand it to charge the battery there are parts in the drivetrain (especially gen 2 as the charger plugs in to it) that are used to charge the battery maybe the vcu also?

As far as I know, you can't.
So that means if you have an extra battery, you have to charge it in the bike, then swap it out and charge the next one in the bike.

Yes, that or having 2 bikes. This could be what they're doing for Taddy B and Eddie Karlsson long enduro races, I really don't know.

Since batteries were not designed to be swappable I doubt Stark would provide any solutions for this.

On the other hand Flux moto is doing it. They're developing their bike with a 7.9 kWh pack swappable under 1 min and able to be charged independently from the bike.

At the GGN race late last year Anton, Eddie, Taddy etc swapped batteries every lap on the 25km loop. This is also what Eddie is doing on Hard enduro races. I've seen it several times. A trained crew with some minor mods on the bike swaps a battery in about 90s.

Did you see if they were charging the battery from a second bike or if they had some kind of other device (mad max style stripped bike with just phone, VCU and battery)?

I was told they brought 19 (!) batteries to GGN (several racers during two days) and as I understand it they charged them in existing bikes. Don't know if they used the bikes they brought for the races (probably) or had some spares.
Iirc there were four guys using batteries during the main day and they used 4-5 batteries each so 19 sounds plausible. The loop was about 25km and used some 60% each lap so utilization of each battery was really bad. I heard of some Varg riders that got two laps in one charge but did not manage that myself.

Bonus pic of me, in the rain coat, Linus (reporter from the biggest bike mag in Sweden) and Anton just before start of the race with their race trailer and Eddies and Taddys bike in the background :)
They managed four laps thanks to battery swapping. I got "almost three" due to a rather over positive charging strategy :ricky:
Linus (we're old friends) has done this race some 10 times and said he wouldn't have managed five laps on his normal KTM350
