@Fog 25 alerted us to Check your Stark Varg charger plug almost a year ago.
I didn't check. I thought maybe the issue was fixed. The issue was indeed addressed... but not fixed.
The wires are now stripped longer, twisted, and soldered. But, apparently, the monkeys didn't tighten the contacts well enough. And when the twisted and soldered wires are squeezed between two flat plates, we have a thin line contact area, or maybe even a point contact, if there is a blob of solder. This blob quickly overheats, melts, and now you have a loose contact that overheats more and melts everything around it.
This is exactly what happened with my charger. Below are the photos from last weekend.
