I was planning to race in the Moto America Mini Cup Qualifier Race at Sonoma Karting Center in July. So I decided to do a trackday there before the race because it's been a minute since I have raced here. Here's some videos of my practice day to get an idea what the track looks like. I'm not sure what configuration they will be using for the race but this is clockwise. It's a really highspeed track. It's like the Buttonwillow of Kart tracks. This is my first time riding the Light Bee after getting a more powerful controller and battery and my first time ever riding Alta Redshift SM39 here. I've only ridden it with the old BAC4000 that nuked itself in the last Supermoto USA race they had here. It's overheat city! I'll list the video in the order I rode them. I went out 4 times on the Light Bee and 3 times on the Redshift. We were also sharing the track with Karts so we had to take turns. Perfect to let the bikes cool down between sessions. Usually this Kart track is open to shared motos and karts on Mondays. It's $60 for a half day.

Light Bee Session 1 Warm Up - I didn't have much time to get my gear on and hope on the track so I only got like 2 good laps in. This was also with the Litespeedbikes 18650 30AH pack

Redshift Session 1 - My first time riding Redshift SM39 on this track and it rips. This bike is drinking the electrons! It chewed through 30% of the battery in this session.

Light Bee Session 2 - With Litespeedbikes 21700 32AH pack that's degraded and I overheated the battery. Got some decent laps in.

Redshift Session 2

Light Bee Session 3 - With Chi Gladiator 72 Compact 38AH battery, power turned up to 30kw but it really only hits like 20kw.

With the magic of the software Telemetry Overlay software and a GoPro I can get my laptimes without sitting in front of the computer with a stopwatch.

Redshift - Looks like the Redshift is doing around a 1:07

This battery overheated. Really bad for the controller because it just suddenly cut power

Chibattery pretty spicy at 51C after the last session. Don't pay attention to the SOC it's wrong it's more like 25% SOC.

Light Bee motor temps I remember hitting like 220F. I didn't have a single motor overheat that day but I came close on the Light Bee. Took this screenshot after it cooled down a bit.

Time to go home

Sonoma Karting Center has changed a bit since the last time I was here. The building changed a bit. They got rid of the nice restroom trailer but at least they paved the whole pit area now. No more pitting on gravel.

We were also sharing the track with Karts so we had to take turns.
I love it when I do supermoto and I share the track with karts: the tyres of the bikes get covered by a layer of gokart tyres rubber and the grip becomes noticeably higher. Did you think the same?

With those temperatures and a leather suit, you must have sweated quite a bit!

That SXV just looks amazing.
