Greetings, Electric Dirt Riders!
Recently, we have been working on updating the Forum.
The biggest change is the new name - Electric Dirt Riders. The old Alta Owners Forum name is deeply embedded in all the forum's structure, so it will take a while to make all the necessary changes. We will try to preserve our Alta heritage and all Alta-related information and resources as much as possible. But the Forum's name must be consistent, so these changes are inevitable.
The new multi-platform structure has been created. Right now we have two flagship electric dirt bike platforms - the STARK VARG platform and the ALTA REDSHIFT platform. They now have their two sections -- the STARK VARG section and the ALTA REDSHIFT section.
We still have the GENERAL section with all the generic electric dirt bikes sub-forums. When creating new threads in the General Discussion sub-forum, you will now be prompted to select either General, Alta, or Stark thread tags. This is to help the forum readers and moderators make sense of what the new thread is about. The General Discussion sub-forum tends to get lots of new threads, and over time valuable information gets lost there. In order to prevent that, forum moderators will be filing most threads tagged Alta or Stark under their own Alta or Stark sections for posterity.
The "Alta Alternatives" section has been renamed "The Next Big Thing Watch". It has two sub-forums - Alta Alternatives -- Production Intent and Alta Alternatives -- DIY. If any cool new electric bike information shows up in the news, expect to find it in this section.
Besides the Alta and the Stark bikes, our members are also interested in many other electric motorcycles (Freeride, Sur Ron, Zero, Oset, Cake), street electric motorcycles, e-bicycles, electric cars/trucks, and various other EV vehicles. These threads will be filed under the Other e-Bikes, Cars, Trucks, EVs section. At this point, this solution appears to make the most sense.
