MX Battery Vs. EX Battery

Is it just me, or so far it looks like the MX battery performance seems better than the EX, even though it was supposed to be more durable?
Is that from your personal experience?
Based on YT videos I have watched, the EX does have more range.
I do not think they are lying about it having more capacity (7.2 vs 6.5 KWh).
It is very difficult to nail down hard numbers on range, for example, I do hard enduro style riding on my MX with a friend who also has an MX.
My friend weighs approximately 75 pounds more than me, and uses less regen than me (perhaps zero?).
After a long day of riding, I usually have about 15% more battery capacity left than he does.
So perhaps it's because of my weight and the regen, OR perhaps my battery performs slightly better (or both).
Shane Pinney has one of each bike, and has done some comparisons.
At 22:40 in the below video he starts comparing numbers.

I'm actually really happy with the range on my MX, I can bomb my backroads, fire out of the apexes and still get home with energy to spare.

As a sumo, this bike is absolute tits and a bundle of joy.
