when asked about what they were made of:
the guards are made of 20mil glossy vinyl, except for the lower frame guards which are 35mil matte textured vinyl.
The vinyl is self adhesive
(IMO., this doesn't sound very protective, but perhaps it would help w/ some of the paint damage from rubbing?)
