Tall Seat Available?

IMG_9149.jpgIMG_9148.jpgIMG_9150.jpg
The Guts tall seat is now available with your choice of colors, firmness and options for a step or bump. Here's mine in grey/black/dark blue/1/2" step/medium density.

Black tape on gearbox cover is an attempt to make quiet even quieter!

Well, I now have a Strike Seats tall foam and cover on my bike. When I called them, they said their foam is slightly softer than the factory foam, but so far it feels pretty hard. We'll see if it softens up over time. As it sits now with the tall seat on my Medium EX suspension, the seat height is 38 inches (96.5 cm). I know Stark advertises that as the factory seat height, but there is a significant increase in height, but unfortunately I didn't think to measure the old seat before I changed it out. It's still the same narrow shape like it comes from the factory, so no gains in comfort there.

That's a very smart looking Varg. (y)
Taller seat suits it.

What kind of riding do you do and how tall are you if you don't mind me asking?
If you decide you don't like the taller seat I may be interested in it.

I ride single track. Mostly tight steep rocky trails. That’s not my favorite, but that’s what’s available near me. Of course being an EX, I also ride it on the street for short trips.

I’m 6’5” tall (195 cm) with a 37 inch inseam (94 cm). I’m in my mid-50’s and 220 lbs (100 kg). I should have bought my EX with the heavy suspension, but my dealer convinced me to get the medium. My next purchase will be lowered foot pegs, either Flo Motorsports or Eos Enduro pegs.

Thanks.
Are the taller seat and lower pegs in pursuit of comfort or are some other aim?

I followed up the products you mentioned. New stuff for Vargs keeps coming.

The tall seat and lowered pegs are strictly for comfort.

I’ve been following the EX suspension thread. I hope it keeps getting more participation.

It’s great that more companies are coming out with new products for the Varg. I’m hoping that a company here in the US will come out with a linkage guard that attaches to the factory skidplate like the one Dowa Tek produces in Europe.

It's just some hard plastic thingy. Cut it out of an existing skidplate and drill a few attachment holes.

Got my strike foam installed. It weighs about 1/2lb less than the stock foam. Like said above it feels about the same firmness. Doesn't feel particularly high quality, reminds me of the last guts foam I had (this was 20 years ago so things there may have improved). It shipped from Australia so it took about a week to arrive and the package needed to be signed for. I didn't have to pay any additional tariffs. I used a onegripper cover and really had to stretch it lengthwise to get it on and as a result the install didn't turn out like I'd hoped.
