Will the Alta last a 2 person scramble?

I’m racing the 2 person team “Scare Scramble” at Airway X Motocross Park this weekend. I don’t know much about it other than it’s around 3 hours long, a 5 mile lap and you trade off with your teammate every 1-2 laps.

I only have a standard charger - will the battery last the whole race if my teammate and I ride 2 laps at a time and I put it on the charger between each time I go out? I can win a B class enduro race, and got 155 overall in the 2019 Dessert 100 in WA, just to get an idea of my pace.

I can get about an hour and a half max of hard fast trail riding. Less if slick and that is in map 1. You are better off using map 1 and flowing the best you can to conserve energy. Maybe bump it up to 2 for straits

Just in case you aren’t aware (because a lot of people still don’t realize this), the standard charger does do 240v as well. As was stated by Redwolf, if you are charging on 240 I’d say you should be good.

I heard of this but have not done it. Do you just wire it hot, hot, ground... no neutral?

Well it ended up not mattering... The course was 5.5 miles long. Everyone did a parade lap and then went straight to the starting line. I did 3 laps in a row (because my teammates bike wouldn’t start). I came in with a little less than 1/4 battery remaining after the 4 laps (I rode all in map 1 to conserve power) and threw it on the charger. But then I went to go back out and my front tire was flat... We ended up just trading my teammates bike to finish the race. I was watching the battery gauge while it was charging and think it may have just barely lasted the race charging with 120V power and the standard charger, but I’ll never know.

My main riding buddy would love to do this race with us...but he doesn’t have an Alta, and he is always too broke to buy one when they come up for sale. If he obtains one before next year he can be counted on to race.
