Might want to check your CAN bus connection

I was thinking the same thing but I contacted Stark and showed them the pictures and bam; they didn't hesitate in sending me out a new battery and wiring harness. Should be here any day. I just picked up some ACF-50 aircraft/military grade anti-corrosion aerosol.

I used some of that on the kids mopeds over winter on the salted roads, still had plenty of corrosion. Maybe would have been much worse without it?

I had a closer look at mine today and the news is not good.

I was using a solution of H2O and baking soda to clean up the corrosion. I was using a toothbrush to apply the solution. Unfortunately one of the pins broke off. I'm not sure if the pin had succumbed to the corrosion and broke off or I ham fisted the poor thing. In any case I have aa problem as the connectors are not available separately only with a new battery. I actually do have an old battery but it would be a real chore popping open two batteries to swap connectors.

The outer "nut" on the center picture is I think supposed to click (over center kind of thing) when it is tight enough, I just checked mine but putting it back on can not get the click, not made easy with the frame brace in the way, needs a bit more force I think. Makes me wonder if this one was not fully tightened hence water/damp getting in.

@heikki, @fsfs,
you are professionals in the field: is it so important to find someone who has a dry room to open a battery?
You don't need any special laboratory controlled environment. Normal air conditioning is just fine. The battery breathes anyway; there's a breather valve right next to that CAN connector. If you end up splitting the pack just be careful not to push any sharp objects inside the pack while separating the two halves. There's only about 5mm edge on the perimeter.

Take a look at my battery teardown thread if you haven't seen it already.

In the battery description on their site they say that it's a patented dual action valve that releases air.
And here, in the site of the US Patent & Trademark Office, you can read the patent: search for patent number 20230187768 (the direct link didn't work): I haven't devoted much time to understand how it works in detail, but they say that it allows air exchange but not water exchange.
