Multiple weeks Hard Enduro trip, what to bring?

I'm planning on a Hard Enduro trip.
Bikes in the Van, roundtrip France/Spain and do multiple weeks of Hard Enduro riding.

What would you guys bring in spare parts?
 
On the Varg.
We don't have a lott of hard Enduro around us. Mostly just Sand.

I guess there are more experienced riders out here in that regard. What is stuff that's known to break when it gets gnarly?
 
I buy brake levers by the dozens :LOL:

The area i'm expecting the most action is 4 hours from a Stark dealer. A Spanish Stark dealer. I have an opinion about Spanish shop owners...

Even have a little redundancy since i have both foot and hand rear brake.
 
I've seen you changing the piston in the filed, so I assume there is no need to mention tools.
I will point out that when I fill my van with tools and equipment I worry a lot that somebody will steal them while I'm riding. Don't pack what you can't stand losing.

I've also been thinking about what Varg may require in the field. [excluding all the familiar stuff like wheels, tires, brakes etc. shared with normal bikes]
I wish there was a parts fiche to see all the small components.
The big parts like the battery, power train etc. are beyond field repair in any case.

Maybe it's worth braking the chain and installing the clip-link. It will make pushing/towing easier.

What's your itinerary? Known or unknown lands? Do you plan to ride every day?
I'm jealous of the opportunity.
 
Haha that was not changing a piston, that was taking the entire engine out to flush out the water. Taking the piston off and on in the proces :ROFLMAO:

I'm on my 3rd or 4th chain so i have a clip link. Never had issues with those.

Now that you mention small parts, i will order a handfull of the smaller fasteners since they're all special units.

It's a combined roadtrip and Enduro holiday. I have the luck to have a Girlfriend that rides (Beta 200 2 stroke).
For Enduro we will keep it to legal Enduro parks with maybe a little of off-park. But 90%+ will be in parks.
First we do 2 citytrips on our way from the Netherlands to Pascuet Enduropark. 5 ish days Pascuet. Then some sightseeing. Few days Boade Enduropark. Some sightseeing. Some days Rougepaule Enduropark. Some sightseeing. Home.
In between that all maybe some Motocross (we have extra rear wheels with harder knobbies) and maybe some Enduro trips in nice area's.
 
Sounds like a terrific trip.

If you have the opportunity, definitely add some trails in the Pyrénées, there is a lot to ride, and very varied (woods, rocks, grass, obviously climbs). See Stark recent media road trip in Catalan Pyrénées (Cerdanaya) or west coast anything in the Basque country is beautiful (col de Roncevaux, riding among horses and cows), but in the middle it's great as well 😂
 
Have you installed any protection for the right motor cover and for the battery? If not, a right motor cover could be a useful spare part to bring with you, considering that someone reported to have broken it.

A lott of their shots are actually from Pascuet. I don't have a licence plate since it's the MX so i want to limit streetriding/road trips to the bare minimum.
But still nice routes are very much appreciated!
Do you have any recomendations for France? Both Enduro Parks and MX tracks?

No not yet. I might take one since they're not too expensive and fit the EX.

My local dealer is looking into what spares he has. He offered that i could take them and return them if unused. Especially usefull for the handelbar switch and the throttle unit. Those are quite expensive and don't fit the EX i plan buying this winter or spring.

Sorry I'm quite new to this and only ride trails. There is a decent number of tracks in southern France, I'm sure they're great, just couldn't recommend anything cause I have no experience.

That being said, last time out we went by Navarrenx MX track, not sure when it opens but it is impressive. You need to take FFM license for the day for most french tracks.

France is a real Moto country, that's what we like about it.
Although i had 3 years French in school i'm very poor at it. And since French people tend to be even poorer in English it's sometimes a bit hard to find the good places 😅

So you know us quite well 😆 To be fair our neighbors south of the Pyrénées don't fare much better but yeah, better gather info online beforehand.

Apps translating speech to text in the desired language work quite well if you really need to get your point across.
 
Haha spend some holidays in France and northern Spain and love the country/surroundings, architecture, moto culture etc etc. Mostly the people are nice as well, especially the Moto guys. However a very sad thing we can't understand eachother...
We use a lott of google translate wich works quite well, but it tends to take the flow out of a conversation.

Funny sidenote. Last time in Pascuet we were the only guests together with a French Trials rider. Phone connection was poor so we used our 20 words French, he his 5 words English and we both used our for ''vocabulary'' of Moto sounds and hand gestures... We had a wonderfull time and became great friends :ricky:
 
One of the few sad facts that will be disappearing with E.
The glory of a couple of guys talking ''bwaap bwaaaap, prrttt, deng deng deng'' is unmatched :ROFLMAO:

And if you want to share some trails that would be very welcome as well. Maybe in private conversation?
 
Do you have an aftermarket skid plate on your bike?
Stark engine guard seems adequate to me.

I haven't seen many reports of crash damage.
It's a mercy not to have radiators taking the first impact like on an ICE bike.

What will you carry in the toolkit while riding?

There's a nice heatwave waiting for you in Spain. Better to go straight into the hills.
 
I run the stock bashplate wich i have tested rigoureusly. The damping material is a really genious addition.
The only bit i'm really worried about is crashing sideways into the rocks and thus breaking the battery. So far they have proven very sturdy, but it's in the back of my mind.
Also there is the phone assembly. It never came of with me but well, tumbling down a hill might do things to it. I would like to see them make the app available to other phones so at least my own is a backup. Even though it doesn't fit in the cradle it gives me a way to switch maps and see my charge whenever i stop somewhere.

Radiators on our ICE bikes have been a common "wear" part until we finally found a protection that worked (Xgrip radiator guards).

Will be carrying the Beta toolkit on the Beta 200. Since we're mostly in parks we will never be that far away and there is always the second bike as a delivery bike.
For the stark i will be carry'ing a few torx heads, a few universal bolts, pliers, a master link and that's pretty much it.
At the van there will be little short of a workshop so as long as we've got the parts we can fix it.

The only part of Spain we'll visit are the hills so we will stick to that.

The front louvers are aluminum and in the same shape like the stock plastic so the airflow isn't impaired.
