EBMX X-9000 v3 - qs-138 - No Wire Harness Available - Build One?

Recently converted a 2018 yz250f to electric w/ qs-138 v3 (70h), trumoto noisy cricket, lithium-king mount, and his old “p1” pack (20s10p) w/ 14T/53T 520 sprockets/chain.

Purchased new x-9000 v3, looking to go 26s?p, but not able to find a harness nor an ETA on when they will be available (contacted EBMX who had me contact Charged).

Anyone have or know if any info exists (plug types, pinouts, etc.)?

Wondering if a Surron or Talaria v3 harness could be adapted and which one would be closest. One for hall sensor?

nobody was able to provide a pinout for you? That's surprising.
I'm sure a harness for almost any other bike would work with modification. You would just need to make sure it has all the wires you plan to use. And then get ahold of a pinout to make absolutely sure you wire it correctly.
Worst case scenario, you would need to buy waterproof connectors and pins on amazon or something. So overall cost would be considerably higher than waiting for a qs138 harness, and you'd need to put in the labor, but you'd probably have a functional harness a lot sooner than one made specifically for that motor by ebmx. So I guess it's just a matter of whether you can source a pinout, and if you're willing to pay extra to not have to wait.

I’ll try again for pinout info, but so far have yet to find any info at all beyond the overview/marketing content on their site.

It’s going to take me a bit to figure out mounting details as this thing is a beast. That and a 26s10p or 11p battery packaging/design/build (p45b w/ bms bypass) so hopefully EBMX will beat me to it.

I'm not sure about the EBMX X-9000 V3. The size is the greatest challenge in my opinion. The V2 is an amazing control. I've used the V2 controller on three different builds. The V2 has worked flawlessly and delivers way more power than I can hold onto.

Mine runs pretty good now but it has a back EMF problem that I had to tune out. At high RPM and high speed when you close the throttle, it feels like regen kicks in real hard. Enough to lock the rear wheel. Sometimes the regen lever will cut out under heavy regen like it's overcharging the battery. Also I will get a stutter during hard launches. I was able to tune it so it runs ok.

I'm a little disapointed in it because on my Light Bee the X9K works flawlessly. It's wasn't plug and play with the QS138.

Hi,
I wanted a V2 watercooling heatsink a little over half a year ago from EBMX they also sent me to Charged cycleworks but those idiots have not responded yet to any of the 3 mails I sent them. So I bothered my EBMX contact again and again until they shipped it to me from their warehouse.
According to an EBMX Employee the x9000 V3 harness for the qs138 motor is already available. Just most shops are not interested in listing them as they only deal with those kiddos surrons and talarias.
I would suggest contact EBMX and ask for help as charged it just not a company anyone would deal with especially private customers are absolutely uninteresting for them 😏

I hate to say it, but I've had the same experience with Charged Cycle Works. I had to email them 3 or 4 times before I was able to get a reply, and even then it took a week or more.

I contacted EBMX first (bought from TB), but EBMX told me to contact Charged since I live in USA.

I’ll try again (and am watching at several vendors), but hopefully EBMX will just sell me one if available.

I was having similar problems. I did a Hall sensor recalibration and it fixed everything. Did you try recalibration of the Hall sensor? -- Dave

how do you recalibrate the hall sensor? Was it a physical adjustment of the sensor itself? Or a learning procedure in the controller

Attached is an image showing the screen were you can find the hall sensor calibration. Please let me know if the recalibration helped???

Just to add some info to this thread, I got ahold of Charged Cycle works and asked them if they have any harnesses compatible with the qs165 60h v3, and they do not. They also said they do not have any universal harnesses that can be made to work. Not just that they don't have any, but that they don't exist yet. It seems EBMX is only making harness for specific motors, and not selling anything else. Personally I think that's pretty stupid, because it means nobody can use the x9000 with motors that they don't currently make harnesses for. Unless you buy a harness made for a different motor, and modify it yourself.

The QS138 harness will work for I guess any QS mid drive motor as they all have the same connector of the hall sensor and the same pin layout. And as I have seen the X9000 V3 also names the QS165 on their supported motor list means there is a tune for this motor already available. Charged cycleworks is known to be stupid so dont give a sh.. on what they say they sell kiddo surron bike stuff and don’t care about DIY ppl ;)

the 165 they list is the 30h/35h that LBX's use. It's half the size, and no reduction gears. Which I'm sure also has the same hall sensor connector, but the tune will be completely different when selecting that than what's needed for the 165 60h v3
