Hi,

I spent hours researching online and got a wrap-around handguard that didn't fit properly (it would squeeze against the phone/dash and prevent it from locking in properly.

Does anyone have a real-life recommendation for wrap-around handguards that 100% fit properly out of the box on a stock Stark Varg Ex - no mods, phone still in the cradle, no major surgery besides poking a hole in the bar ends, etc?

Thanks!

Not an absolute perfect fit, but well enough. The Polisport ones.

They are wrap around plastics and i have proven this week they work extremely well in the gnarly stuff.

Will make a proper detail photo today. But they are on this picture on the Stark:

I really like my Cycra hand guards. They were a tight fit, I had to grind just a little bit off the mount to get them to fit under the phone holder. However, I found that if you crash and the hand guard spins on the handlebar, it will hit the phone and bend it. So my solution was to get 20mm bar risers and use those to raise the phone holder. That worked out great and have been real happy with it. I think you could probably use any hand guard with that set up. Just don't go over 20mm, because more than that you might compromise the phone holder harness.

I’m using Acerbis Endurance handguards on EX
- bar end expander might need light sanding to fit into the bar
- the handguard curve might need a few mm adjustment to avoid rubbing the lever

*to sand the bar end expander attach it to a drill. takes less than a min to get it right

I had some take-off late model KTM “flag” type guards that I added the optional KTM supports that connect the flags to bar ends giving them more robustness. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0771S4P5S?tag=sce0f-20

Indeed i don't trust them one bit. In MX it should be fine. Here in Enduro i'm very happy with my plastic wraparounds.
I've seen many bent handlebars from people riding with metal wraparounds. Mine have twisted and turned all over the place, but my handlebar is still OEM bent.
