I sorted this problem out for anyone that stumbles on this thread in the future. I was able to read the fault code by keeping the throttle wide open and pushed it over to my laptop to read the code: hall fault. I found on a different thread that can mean throttle fault. The max throttle voltage...
I have been trying to figure this out as well Don. There is just not a lot of room in my 2006 CRF250R frame so I had to get creative with my pack design to fit 20s13p P42A. The rear shock mount moved lower on the +2009 frames which looks like it would help. The YZF certainly seems to have more...
There are two things to consider, voltage and current. It’s reported to only take around 100 milliamps to stop your heart. Human skin will start to conduct electricity over 48v. So yes there is a real danger working on these systems without taking precautions. At a minimum gloves rated for the...
Don, have you ever had any problems with the votol em260? Mine (E&C kit) is cutting out at full throttle in all power modes. Once I come to a full stop it will go again. I sent it back to E&C and they reflashed their tune but that didn’t fix it. It’s definitely the controller, my buddy let me...
I use a cycle analyst with a remote shunt.
https://ebikes.ca/bundle-ca-hc.html
It’s made for diy e-bikes but it’s got a ton of great features applicable for e motos. I just sized the shunt for ~500A and made the adjustments in the cycle analyst. Works great.

No races, just a trail riding machine and banging bars with buddies.
QS138 kit from E&C works great. Pack is five 4s 20ah Turnigy LIPO packs in series with a Daly BMS for charging and cell monitoring. I get about ~10 miles out of this setup (140Wh/mi). Currently building a custom pack in a...
There is some good info on this thread:

This is what I use
DALY Smart BMS Li-ion 20S 72V 40A https://a.co/d/2YiRZVQ
Pretty common for DIY folks to bypass the protection features and just use it for charging and monitoring. Those can be had for about $50 (I use a Daly). The BMS's that can handle high discharge currents can range from $150 to several hundred depending on how much documentation/features you want...
Spare parts and rear handbrake kits are now available from Stark. I decided to give it a try on my 2006 CRF250R conversion. I bought the master cylinder and brake line to pair with the CRF Nissin caliper. Parts showed up in less than a week.
Master cylinder is manufactured by Formula

I only needed a couple of each unique shape so it was per part. I didn't get it quoted in higher quantities but I'd assume the more you order the lower the piece price.
For the next guy/gal stumbling across this thread; Based on the info/photos provided, the vendor might be WELLGO on Alibaba. They took my 3D CAD files and gave me a quote on 5 different designs. Roughly 8 bucks a piece for 1mm copper with a three week lead time.
Hey Don, you mentioned cooling for the controller at high amperage a couple of times. Could you elaborate on some solutions you've found or heard of? I've got a kit coming from ElectroandCompany with the EM260 for a CRF250R.
