I would be afraid the wires would get damaged if the charger was just loose in a backpack. They aren't the most robust connections.

Haha Haha, I kept the stand I thought it was still useful I often use it as a step stool and some times a Varg stand still. But the Pelican case charger conversion is so much better and I put a safety wire on the cable to keep it from being pulled out of the charger.

I have both the Varg and Freeride. The Freeride case is too large to reasonably put in a back pack. You would be better off putting the Varg charger in a Pelican Case. This case is a little over sized I think the next size smaller would work too and be easier to backpack.

Dump that cheap Stark connector. Go to Lowes and get a high quality Eaton.
