Does anyone know if the EX phone come with a data connection? What I’ve read is that it has a prepaid SIM but it is not clear if that is for mobile data or what? Especially in the US….

I assume if you want to use it like a phone you would need to add it to your own mobile service and payment plan.

I’m just wondering what service/connection it comes with standard.

Typically, I would be carrying my iPhone with me and I could share that data connection via personal hot spot with the android…. But if it has it’s own mobile data connection, all the better.

Thanks!

I seem to recall reading that “data” only feature coming with EX bike so Stark can gather and disseminate user data and OTA firmware / troubleshoot. Right now, Stark is not releasing much detail about the EX despite multiple CS email inquires placed.

Regardless, I was going to hotspot in wifi to the bikes phone/cluster. I don’t want to manage multiple cellular accounts.

Current bikes come with a free Data-Only SIM card. You can browse, email, send messages or call using a mirrored WhatsApp account or other messaging services. But you do not have a phone number, so you cannot make phone calls or send/receive SMS.

Thanks...Is the Data-Only SIM for a limited time? Or forever? Does Stark foot that data service?

Anton said almost a year ago they were going to cut this "free" data plan at some point. He was also talking about premium subscriptions, and how race mode (unreleased at that point) was going to be linked to premium subscriptions.

None of this has materialized yet so not sure if it's still the plan or if they decided otherwise.

Check this out, about 3 min in

does anyone know what the lower central button beside the SIM- slot on the arkenstone is good for?
at my bike EX 2025 - its does simply nothing.
i also installed a software on the arkenstone that reads the state of all sensors and buttons. nothing...

SAM says:
To use the button on the underside of the Arkenstone effectively, please follow these steps:

Switching driving modes:
Press once: Pressing the button once allows you to switch between the preset driving modes.

Activate crawl mode:
Press and hold: Pressing and holding the button activates crawl mode.

My bike works in race mode no subscription.
I am in Australia . mx1 over a year old .
It is a mx bike why wouldn't it.
I prefer the mx1 setup over a mode setting.
What use would a mx bike be if you cant ride mx on it.
Maybe i could ride mx2 set on 80 hp.joke
The time lockout works too.
A compulsory subscription would just put a lot off people off owning one in my opinion.
