That has bitten me as well, also the other way round. If you use crawl mode to lock the rear wheel and then have to turn it off under load with no throttle it will "unlock" pretty violently. So I do agree that should be an adjustable feature (percentage of throttle that still allows you to go into crawl mode) to be able to test what suits one best. Would be fun to go from 5% forward to instant lock rear crawl :muutt:

I think the same as well. But you and i are more experienced riders i guess. Stark cannot have new riders going from neutral, handfull of throttle and into gear.
It's a more complicated safety matter than you and i might realise at first. And maybe they will adjust it in the future. This is all new territory for dirtbikes so development hickups are kind of to be expected.

Thanks for report, Erwin. Always good to hear from real experience.

Isn't it weird that what this bikes needs the most is a bit of software development?
Compare that to 100 years of tinkering with base gaskets and jets and all that.

In which van did you manage to pack all that gear? 🤔
We have a Fiat Ducato L3H2 (6m long) wich is our combined MX van and basic campervan.

And yeah the bike is really good as is. And that my biggest criticism is on the nice to have features other bikes don't have is great.

Some more criticism/feedback:
You can adjust how long it takes to go gear-neutral after standing still. 15-60 seconds. I would like longer than 60 seconds, but for now it will do. However the settings reset themselves so it goes back to 15 seconds all the time. Software bug?

I had that issue from beginning on on my EX, but with the latest update it seems to have cured itself. Now when going into the timer menu it takes a second or two and then the saved settings are shown - looks like it is read from the VCU on not stored on the phone. Nevertheless my "lock bike" feature is broken now, so maybe you always have to exchange a working feature for a broken one to keep the balance 🤣

I had the 4kW generator with me. Wich was overkill. At all 4 Enduro parks (Pascuet, Boade, Rougepaule, Bilstain) i could (slow) charge the bikes over night. Nowhere i was able to drain the entire battery. If it was less hot at Pascuet etc (35-42C) and i had ridden with faster/better riders i could have maybe drained it. But using the breaks to charge as well that shouldn't have been a problem either.
I am considering buying a smaller one (the Van was quite full) for emergency use if charging is unavailable. Something like 1 or 2kW.

I actually managed to break the tip of the foot brake (wich i only use as a parking brake to have my hands free. Didn't bring that but used a Beta one that we had upside down and does its job as parking brake.
Also broke a front fork guard. Didn't bring one. KTM one did fit and somebody could miss it so problem solved.

Stock bashplate and everything did its job very well.

That does not take away i would again bring:
- Handlebar switch
- Throttle
- Engine cover right side
- Handlebars
- Footpegs
- Levers
- Inner tubes
- All the normal essentials

I've also seem that the linkage is mounted so high, that although it's not impossible to hit it, but you hit it way less often than on other bikes and when you do it's less severe and does only minor scratching.

@Erwin P, I thought of you today.
I had a tip over on an uphill, and bike landed hard on a standing rock.
It was an awkward angle, and if handguard didn't take the impact it would have smashed the throttle housing. It just grazed it by a hair.
Odd how this was never an issue with gas bikes.

Now I'm looking at that one throttle protector, but it's too bulky. My brake lever is barely clearing it as it is. Maybe NiceCNC will make something.

I'm also finding that right side engine cover is taking hits from rocks even without crashing.

Well it isn't an issue on the Stark either since i didn't break it. And i crashed... A lott...

You don't hear everything about ICE's. I've probably seen every part break in ways i couldn't even imagine.
