    Want to buy Standard Charger

If you remove the top of the rapid charger cover you will see that there is a lot of extra room in the case, primarily for the cables I guess. If you're mounting it in your trailer, you could take it out of the case and save a lot of room and store the cables separately.

    Best practices? Battery Longevity

I've noticed my Alta doesn't get any lighter as I use up the electrons during my rides. My ICE bikes always get lighter as I burn up the gas. What am I doing wrong? Lol

    Bought an Alta!!

Some of today's youngsters could very well be the first generation to only ride e-dirt bikes and never even bother with ICE dirt bikes. The technology will continue to improve as they age, by the time they are ready for adult sized bikes the bikes may very well have improved to the point where...

    Stock Triple Clamp Woes

If it hasn't already been mentioned, KTM triples work nicely, bolt right into the Alta headstock. Requires the matching KTM axle and front wheel. Changes the offset 1 degree if I recall correctly.

    Bought an Alta!!

Metz, congrats on the bike and nice video, that looks like some prime riding. I'm in Snoqualmie but ride from time to time up at my club property in Monroe (south side of Hwy 2). Let me know if you want to get out there for a spin on the Altas. Its a small area but has some fun single track...

    Tesla inverter hacked

I'd like to put a Tesla drive train in a 914 and zap around. Or an old Alfa. Or a Beck replica. Or a 356 replica. Any vintagy sports car with an electric setup actually, Lol. In a way that does not permanently alter the car, so it could be re-configured back to an ICE setup.

*ALTA OWNERS* How has parts/support been?

I would buy the nicest one you can find in your price range. I don't think the differences between the models is large enough to warrant waiting around for one model or the other. Unless of course you have your heart set on one model and you're in no rush. I've been very happy with my '18 MXR...

Want to buy On order, close 'er up

I believe the problems happen when you mix fluids in the systems, or do not thoroughly clean them when changing fluids in them. Plenty of reports of using clutch masters with brake fluid with no ill effects. I'll be doing this as soon as I receive my custom line from Spiegler, don't anticipate...

*ALTA OWNERS* How has parts/support been?

I also bought a B&S Q6500 240v generator and an Alta Quick Charger (which has a 240v plug, but can run on 110v with an adapter) with the idea that when I go out in the woods, I would do a 20-30 mile loop in the morning, come back for lunch, throw the bike on the rapid charger powered by the...

*ALTA OWNERS* How has parts/support been?

I'm about 215, 6'5", so feel your pain. One of the nice things about the Alta besides that it is full sized, is that I find it is easier stay standing up on it since I don't have to shift or clutch. I always have trouble on ICE bikes with body positioning while shifting, even with all the usual...

Want to buy On order, close 'er up

Liquid Performance has the Alta LHRB line (front brake lever to rear caliper). This setup does not support using the rear brake pedal though. Alta Motors HOSE, BRAKE, REAR, HAND OPERATED, WITH MOUNTING CLAMP 7004049-00 | eBay

*ALTA OWNERS* How has parts/support been?

Parts support has been surprisingly good. And the knowledge and willingness to help out here is amazing. I bought my MXR after Alta went out of business and I love it. I do have a little worry about a catastrophic failure, but I haven't heard of any here, and my bike has needed nothing, other...

Rear Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt Missing Inner Bushing?

Pedal assembly reinstalled, adjusted the pedal height and brake engagement, bled/flushed the fluid. Working like the bees knees now. Bushing o-ring in a baggie, labeled and put away. Skid plate back on, all buttoned up. Stoked! Thanks again for everyone's help (and patience) on this one...

Rear Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt Missing Inner Bushing?

After disassembling and reassembling it a few more times and not having any luck with getting the pedal to snap back into position the way I am used to seeing bikes do, I removed the inner rubber o-ring from the bushing, reinstalled every thing and its much better, works pretty much like a...

Rear Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt Missing Inner Bushing?

Yes you are correct again, thanks again for the clarification. I took a closer look and the inner bushing protrudes very slightly from the inner pedal side, so the pedal should not interfere with the mount.

Rear Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt Missing Inner Bushing?

Thank you for the diagram! For some reason I could not find it. Yes I have the spring (#11) installed just like your pic shows and yes the two o-rings (#7) are there on the insert (#2), which I have already pressed out, cleaned, re-greased, and re-installed.

Rear Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt Missing Inner Bushing?

Yes that is correct now that I think about it. But isn't it true that the more I tighten the bolt, the more it will push the entire assembly against the spring and the mounting surface? Causing binding? Seems like an inner bushing/spacer would prevent the pedal from being tightened up against...

Rear Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt Missing Inner Bushing?

Sounds exactly like my experience. And yes, I'm in the middle of a LHRB install, but I want to retain the rear brake pedal for now until I see how I like it. Broke a banjo fitting on one of the lines late Friday so have to order up another one tomorrow, damn it, Lol. I think if I install a...

Rear Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt Missing Inner Bushing?

Thanks I will try and remove the spring but I don't think that is the main issue. The pedal pivoting on the threaded portion of the bolt is a very strange design and seems like it would cause binding and wear on the threads. Its only a matter of time before the threads wear down and then there...

Rear Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt Missing Inner Bushing?

Hey guys, does anyone know if I'm missing an inner bushing or collar on my rear brake pedal assembly? The mounting bolt/pivot bolt does not appear to have an inner bushing or collar which is causing issues with my brake pedal. If I tighten the bolt down enough to eliminate the wiggle, it binds...
