    Fox Raceway - Raw - 2018 MXR

Nice African beat! A little bit unsettling though, especially before going to bed, because it made me think of cannibals and human sacrifices.

    Same shock?

Alta used to say the rear shock was Alta specific. The damping is nothing special/specific, so maybe they have slightly different lengths?? I am speculating, but if you search this forum and then measure the KTM shock you should have your answer.

EV West has a Redshift... and a ****load of Alta batteries

Notice that the A-pack Panasonic batteries are rated at 3200 mAh, compared to the the Sony 3000 mAh. Nobody has noticed a reduced range on the MXR, although our iron butt record setters have all been the MX/EX bikes. This explains it. Also, the R-pack Sony batteries are rated at 15A continuous...

EV West has a Redshift... and a ****load of Alta batteries

Can someone with the inside knowledge say if buying a few of these batteries as spares makes any sense? Have they ever gone bad, the batteries themselves, not the connection wires?

    Should I ride it...

Awesome! That's the way to ride safely! Some like to run studded tires in the summer too, if they have many slippery roots.

EV West has a Redshift... and a ****load of Alta batteries

I asked in another thread, but I am going to ask it here as well. Are there any companies or individuals who repair Tesla batteries?

    Broken display - solution?

Does anyone have experience with fiber optics? I am thinking about relocating the display out of harm's way entirely and attaching a couple of fiber optic cables to it -- one to see the yellow warning light and the other to see the green bezel indicator. Will these cables be visible in broad...

    Broken display - solution?

I forgot that on the EX(R) the display sits ahead of the handlebar. This is why it breaks! @Trialsman -- I would round all corners to make this this aluminum block less menacing and anodize it black to make it appear smaller.

load / resistance spec for aux / 12v circuit

And does the circuit then restore itself back to normal operation after you key cycle the bike? So is it safe to fiddle with the AUX connector without having to go to a dealer to reset anything or clear fault codes? Yes, I am also curious if a fuse may be needed.

EX In Desert South Of Boise

I would keep the bike in the bedroom (covered with warm blankets!), then move it into a warm van when I am about to go riding. Then, when riding, the battery should stay warm.

EX In Desert South Of Boise

This *might* be slippery. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Yes, I would definitely add studs if I had to ride this. I actually did ride the woods in winter on a mountain bike a few years ago. It was fun if the snow wasn't too deep. I eventually added studded tires for confidence, in case I hit bare ice.

Battery care -- winter riding and hibernation

Re-watching this video again, after having read all the stuff on this great forum, makes a whole lot more sense. It might be possible to convert the Redshift to using 1 or 2 of these. They are 27 x 11.5 x 3.5", which is too big to be a direct drop-in, but perhaps cutting it in 2-3 pieces is the...

Battery care -- winter riding and hibernation

Yes, Teslas do have battery heaters. Maybe coolers too, I just do not know what kind.

    Broken display - solution?

They might be able to sell/exchange new LCDs to current SOL owners, after removing or not removing any identification marks from them. Or exchange the complete PCBA. That is if they are the ones soldering everything together. Waiting for @John Lindemann or @SuburbanDad to do that...

I am not quite sure what this means.

    Broken display - solution?

Looks like these two guys with such displays have tried this already. Can anyone recognize that pyramid-looking "SC" logo? @SuburbanDad -- Would you be able to separate the LCD and take a look at the back side of it?
