Sold New Alta A-Pack Battery (for MX, EX, SM)

I had a few of these batteries, which were all sold to Alta owners in need of replacements. This one is the last one remaining. Brand new A-Pack battery (for MX, EX, SM) In a sturdy enclosed wooden crate (top cover not shown). State of charge ~50% for long-term storage. Dimensions: 24.5" L x...

    EMAX DWX 25

It is smaller. For some reason most electric bike makers still do not want to attempt to make their bikes equivalent in size, weight, and performance to the regular 125-250-450cc dirt bikes. It is as if every one of them senses a large and unmet need for play bikes, pit bikes, and girlfriend bikes.

Sorry, I missed that you bought a suspension too.

The EXR comes with Xplor forks, not 4CS.

    AJ Catanzaro

Wow! This is so awesome, Matt!!! Did you go to Georgia to attend the AJ's class? I can't believe you got him started in Map 1, LOL! This is like a bicycle mode for him! But a slow progression definitely allowed him to get comfortable on the bike and ready for Map 4. Did you have the suspension...

Sometimes even the Alta isn't enough

I am blaming @Honcho for my ignorance. I got this idea from him about three years ago. So would several polarity switches do the trick then? How many wires go to the motor? I seem to remember at least four relatively thick ones.

    EMAX DWX 25

LOL! I would really try to learn to ride backwards on a bike like this!

    My Moto Van build thread

I haven't done the interior in my van yet because I wanted to finish the electrical first. Now I must decide whether to love it or change it to a higher voltage and bigger batteries.

Sometimes even the Alta isn't enough

Me thinks that all that may be needed is a high-voltage polarity switch. Will the motor controller get confused if the motor starts spinning backwards?

    My Moto Van build thread

OOPS! You are right, we have more than one ProMaster thread here, LOL! I just fixed that. I have the info about the inverter and the batteries in my post #2 and #3. Right now these 5 batteries are good for almost one full charge. If I were to do it again, I would buy two Tesla batteries and...

My S.W.A.G. would be 15 batteries, or 18kWh. Just bring a Rivean or a Cybertruck.

    My Moto Van build thread

Two years later, and I finally got my wish. The bike is now charging straight from the lithium batteries without needing to run the van's engine. I had to buy 5x Battleborn 100Ah 12V batteries. Four was not enough, even though on paper it should have been fine. Also, in the process, three out...

    The Storm Bee is out!

Did anyone catch the details about possible overheating during his top speed runs? The motor is air cooled, so this is very likely.

    WP Trax

You are a beginner. The best shock for you is the one that is known and works well for many other riders. Correction: Just saw your post in Vin Id. Congrats on having a rare and famous bike! The stock Alta spring has the rate of 60 N/mm. You can buy it for under $100. Or you could buy a...

    WP Trax

If so, I would then sell the Trax and buy a new stock complete Alta shock.

    The Storm Bee is out!

He says it should possoibe to squeeze out more than 50 kW out of this motor (67 hp). The reverse switch is where the Alta has the start button, LOL! The guy became so excited when the bike was able to reach almost 100 km/h (62 mph). i couldn't finish watching, the video is 1 hour long.

    WP Trax

Has the stock spring worked well for you before? This would be a good start, Trax or no trax.

Zero and Polaris sign exclusive 10 year agreement to produce powersports vehicles

So now BRP has the Alta tech and Polaris has the Zero tech. Neither one wants to make motorcycles. But I am cheering for Polaris. Here is a good interview with the CEOs of Zero and Polaris: Polaris And Zero Motorcycles Ride Together To Build Electric Off-Road Vehicles And Snowmobiles

Zero and Polaris sign exclusive 10 year agreement to produce powersports vehicles

You are right! I thought Polaris was one of the BRP brands, but no, it is a standalone US company.

Zero and Polaris sign exclusive 10 year agreement to produce powersports vehicles

I didn't know that Indian was owned by Polaris. Huh. I hope BRP and Harley start an EV trade war and both go bankrupt!
