The big Stark Varg supermoto information topic

What gearing are you running, and what map setup if you don't mind sharing?

The big Stark Varg supermoto information topic

Just going by what the commentators noted, and you can see he didn't have as much motor as he was being chased down on the last lap of the B heat. He could have dropped modes to save battery?

The big Stark Varg supermoto information topic

Looks like Andy was having thermal issues on the last couple of laps of the B heat, so no way I'd get a full race at Loudon, bah.

    Power Upgrade on the Varg

This is one area Stark will HAVE to address, there needs to be a positive, confirmed, no questions, no ifs, ands or buts kill button that is obvious. If you look at rules for electric bikes in other formats they typically also mandate a positive battery disconnect that is obvious and accessible...

    Power Upgrade on the Varg

I've stuck throttles on ye olde carb'd bikes too. No fly by wire required. Fix was the same, clutch then kill switch?

    Power Upgrade on the Varg

I'm ok with subs when there is an actual value add going on. Netflix, I'm getting access to content I don't have. Internet access, again, obvious value there. Charging me a subscription to be allowed to twiddle knobs on my bike, there's no value add there, you're not bringing something to the...

The big Stark Varg supermoto information topic

For comparison, road racing Supermotos at NHMS (Loudon NH) we're seeing 105 to 110mph out of FS 450s by turn one, if not a little faster. My 2016 500 XC W could muster the same on our 1.6mi road course with 60hp. Same aero, similar weight to the Varg. The advantage my 500 has is a gearbox...

Is there an App for riding and fitness

The Stark Phone is an android unit, does it have the Play Store? IE could you just install Lit Pro on it?

Wish those MCD clamps were 205mm apart, my 06 SMR setup would drop in. At 200mm my caliper will be eating spokes. Good to see the market is already spooling up though.

do you store the bike in standby mode or completely off?

It all depends on the device, I’ve got multiple vehicles and a generator that sit on battery tenders 24/7/365 unless actively in use. My Jeep PHEV, plugged in 24/7/365 unless actively in use or under an annoying no charge no park near anything/indoors recall order… grumble, story for another...

do you store the bike in standby mode or completely off?

A storage mode with the charger connected would be ideal... Let it float in the ideal storage range, topping off as needed.

Maine - Any roadblocks or smooth sailing?

Order in, now to pretend to be patient for 8 to 10 weeks.

Maine - Any roadblocks or smooth sailing?

Any reason to order online and let Stark pick a dealer vs picking one myself and doing the ordering through them?

Maine - Any roadblocks or smooth sailing?

I'm getting similar advice from my local crew so I think 18in will be the way I roll, thanks! No signs of a damper mount out there yet, will keep my two Scotts on standby. Looks like the brake mount is likely KTM pattern, and I don't have a sumo brake for that at the moment, I also see at...

Maine - Any roadblocks or smooth sailing?

For some reason I thought I had a spare set of dirt wheels still, 21 / 19 setup so I was going to go 18in on the Varg to round out the collection. Well... so my memory is faulty and no such spare set. 40C Nervous Novice at MX, I've got OK roll speed but just never learned to jump and now I...

Motion Pro Clicker adjusters and bleeders

Them only being held on by the bleeder semi-freaks me out. That’s not a thread intended to have any load on it, and it’s only on one side too…

Is there any reason I can run 10-40w oil in the varg?

I've still got some Silkolene 0w-20 from back when I spent WAY too much racing pitbikes... 20yrs old, but it's in a plastic container so should still be fine, right? :P

Maine - Any roadblocks or smooth sailing?

Laid hands on a Varg today, will be locking in shortly. As anticipated, about the same heft to get it on and off the stand as my old 2016 500 XCW was, not 'light' but also not deal breakingly heavy either. Sitting on it felt good, nothing screamed odd or warning at me. I'm not sure my ice...

    Maximum Scramble Range

Riding to maximize regen is a PITA coming from hybrid/phev land. If you're using your brakes, you're not regening as much as possible, and the non-ECU controlled rear brake means the system can't help you by ramping up regen in back before resorting to the mechanical setup. So, yeah, I'm...
