Not a fan of this, there is zero reason to lock 'race legality' behind a subscription. There's no reason to lock ANYTHING in that discussion behind a subscription. If there is a concern about the cost of cellular connections, the phones support WiFi, make the end user bring a data connection...
Odd, in the past my friends have had issues with Mass and dual sporting. Maine can get picky about titles with the offroad use only stamp so that'll be annoying if they've switched to that, but not a deal breaker.
Cool, that plus I'm hearing the MCO's don't say 'offroad use only' means I should have smooth sailing. Now the other fun is how much of my KTM bits collection can swap over, I'm guessing my FS450 and GMD road race triples are not going to fly due to reducing steering lock too much, my 06 SMR...
I'm contemplating taking the plunge, no dealers in state but I have a couple within reasonable travel distance in New England. Has anyone run into any issues registering in Maine, or are we one of the states that still can't be sold to yet?
Actually, I'd be curious to know the terms of the NDA, California is very NDA unfriendly, if those NDAs prevent the employees from finding work in related fields they're not valid for example, unless Alta is providing continuing compensation IIRC?
The src code really isn't worth much anyways, unless you're putting those specific bits into production. If you've got the patents, you've already got any proprietary tech hidden in the code.
Both chargers do their thing at the same rate on 110v, FYI. It's when you feed them 220v that the rapid charger can stretch it's legs and out run the standard charger.
TL tires with tubes. Don't worry about speeds, we're regularly running tubeless tires with tubes at 100mph + at the track, no issues. If you REALLY want a full tubeless system you could get some Alpinia rims laced to your SM's hubs, but make sure to treat your wallet to a nice dinner and movie...
The challenge is coming up with a spacer that won't sheer bolts on the rotor. If you use individual spacers on each rotor bolt, epic fail in VERY short order. A ring spacer will last longer, but Warp 9 told me they still had issues with the bolts in that arrangement. Spacing the caliper...
In that case the only thing you have to watch out for if not getting an ALTA specific front wheel is the 7mm rotor offset from normal KTM pattern wheels. You can either space the rotor out, or space your caliper IN with slightly longer bolts and a spacer plate between the bracket and fork...
