    Honda WN7 (Wind Naked, Fun)

Don't be so cynical my friend 😆 Honda commitment (and I mean all Honda, not just motorcycles) to carbon neutrality by 2050 and shift towards electric is very real (even if adjusting their intermediate targets along the way), they're getting eaten alive in the car industry and know they really...

I don't think they're using LFP, that's something you do when you're not worried about range nor packaging, not on your first electric motorcycle. About weight it really depends which bike you take as comparison, for instance Honda CB650R is 206 kg. And I wonder how much the CCS2 charger weight?

    Honda WN7 (Wind Naked, Fun)

Guys, it's not about the looks, nor even the specs, it's big news simply because it's big H, the world leading OEM, selling 40% of all motorcycles sold in the entire world, feeling ready to mass produce and sell electric motorcycles. It's not Zero motorcycles, Energica or Stark selling...

Which is why they invested in EM in the first place 😉

    Yamaha YE-01

Regarding the looks of the bike I think Stark "had it easy" in the sense that they have no legacy, nothing to build on, they could go any direction they wanted. Whether you're Yamaha or Honda, it's probably better from a cost perspective to reuse a maximum of components from other bikes (frame...

    Yamaha YE-01

It's a new bike with EM and Yamaha tech. That's a Yamaha frame. Battery does look small but power should be at least 50 hp (probably more) to offer "MXGP levels of power" as claimed.

    Yamaha YE-01

One year ago, Yamaha invested in Electric Motion (EM), french firm which has been making electric trial and trail motorcycles for 15 years. Last January, Yamaha France CEO of 11 years switched jobs to become CEO of Electric Motion. Now they present the first prototype born of this partnership...

AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA/FIM races

Seb Tortelli POV, that race is brutal, good choice for his first Enduro race 🤣 By the end of the day, that track was a dirt bike graveyard. Check out at 5'40 and 14' 😵 Mad respect for all the nuts that took the start.

    Stark Battery Tech Thread

Please note that peak power is referenced for Batemo as power sustainable for 5 min (which is an unlikely scenario for motorcycles). Hence they give Molicel P50B peak power at 136 W while Molicel states max power at 397 W (10 s, SOC 100%, 25 °C) and 228 W (10 s, SOC 50%, 25 °C). Max continuous...

For all the battery geeks out there, take a look at Batemo website. Here is an overview of 5 Ah 21700 commercial cells. https://www.batemo.com/fr/products/batemo-cell-explorer/?mode=focus&format=21700&capacity_min=4.9&capacity_max=313.4&view=power-vs-energy-gravimetric Molicel P50B is 2nd...

That's right, M65A and P60B had been announced by Molicel at the same time back in June, see here: https://www.molicel.com/newsroom/molicel-launches-inr-21700-m65a-and-inr-21700-p60b-pioneering-market-leading-power-for-e-bikes-and-light-electric-vehicles/

    Stark Battery Tech Thread

I'm pretty sure it was a video interview, can't recall which one. IIRC, he said they changed supplier, they had been shopping around and tried multiple cells and simply chose the best one for their use case. It might be in this interview : Sorry it's just AI BS, Stark certainly don't make...

    Stark Battery Tech Thread

P60B weight 4 g more than P50B so that's 1.6 kg for the 400 cells pack. What we know for sure is that Stark prototypes (ridden during their huge media days) had Molicel P42B (4.2 Ah), MX1.0 production bike has P45B (4.5 Ah) which increased capacity from 6.0 to 6.5 kWh. Newest 7.2 kWh pack used...

About that fast charger, read the description. This could be an incoming feature by Stark supporting their riders and customers at selected events? https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQXL8ygjH1f/?igsh=MXBlNzloZXZrbmtoMg==
