What if somone spliced into the cable that goes to the data port. That could be tied into to anything that can run multitool, the same way we connect to the bike now. This way you could have something like a raspberry pi in the frame connected to a screen that you put anywhere displaying the...
I have re-designed the holding mounts for the display and removed the battery this time so I could more easily fit everything. It took a few iterations but the current mount seems promising. Waiting on the other side to print now and will be testing out the durability tomorrow and Sunday and...
I was a bit surprised when he said he would do it for under a grand. I think you could do it if you wanted to. I have looked into building my own. I think the hold up for me is the tools necessary to build it. I think parts wise excluding tools you could keep it under 1k using used 18650s. The...
The guy I had talked to I haven't been able to get in contact with since this thread. I apologize for getting people's hopes up. I had talked to the guy for a while in-depth on the subject so I was surprised he dipped. Either way, I think this thread highlights the interest in a product of this...
I think there won't be many issues in terms of an event like this as we all will be ridding and outside. The tracks and ride areas in NY only require masks when checking/paying for a pass. Through if things get a lot worse this may be something to re-visit
Alright, 12 people voted on the pole. It looks like the North East wins the location and the time of year is pretty close only separated by 1 vote. Do we think COVID will be manageable by spring because it is one vote ahead? It also seems that for most people if there is a smaller winter rally...
I can get about an hour and a half max of hard fast trail riding. Less if slick and that is in map 1. You are better off using map 1 and flowing the best you can to conserve energy. Maybe bump it up to 2 for straits
I think he wanted to try out all of the modes. I originally said he likely would only want mode 3 and 4 but he was all-around interested in the bike. It only took maybe 20 or 30 minutes of riding for him to fall in love with the bike and be faster than he was on his 450. He looked really...
Just to clarify because I don't want to take credit for making the video he actually made the video and posted it to his channel, I just helped film. It turned out pretty sweet though.
We need to find him a bike. He is serious about buying one. I think he would be another Josh Hill spreading the word of how awesome electric bikes are.
I went to a group lesson that AJ Catanzaro was holding and let him take the Alta out after the class. My only request was for him not to hold back. Here is the video. I would highly recommend attending one of his classes, he is an excellent instructor when it comes to form and riding the bike...
They offer an Alta specific model also which is pretty nice. I assume they just realized it is the same as the KTM and created an Alta category on their website. I ordered one and look forward to trying it out!
