    Theoretical top speed

I assume the run I did yesterday is logged. I know that log files download when multitool is connected, but can you target a specific file date range to download? I'm curious what the actual motor RPM was.

    Theoretical top speed

2019 EXR, 15/48 sprockets, Shinko 705 tire... today GPS said 89 mph. Definitely RPM/speed limited and not aero limited. Three attempts, 88/88/89 (last one was down hill just to confirm it wasn’t aero limited). Also... It gets to top speed fairly quick.

How-To : Install and Use Alta Multitool Software

Well, I installed Oracle VM on my newer laptop, installed multitool, connected to the bike no problem. Not sure what the issue was with the other PC. Settings and process were identical.

How-To : Install and Use Alta Multitool Software

To get where I am, I watched both installation videos, following instructions, pausing, completing instructions, every step of the way. No problems up to actually getting my USB to work with VirtualBox. In settings it only allows USB 1 configuration. My PC supports up to USB 3. I was wondering...

How-To : Install and Use Alta Multitool Software

Anyone have issues getting the CANUSB to connect to the virtual environment? I get a failed message in the virtual environment even though it connects normally in windows initially. The first time I launched the Alta application it implied the CANBUS adapter was connected (but I wasn’t connected...

    Theoretical top speed

I already did “a the test”. While I did use a sprocket calculator to figure out what combo I could use to keep the chain length the same, it verified 15/48 would work relative to 13/53 stock sprockets. I have 18” rim streetish biased tire (Shinko 705). About the same height as my worn knobby...

    Speedometer somehow adjustable?

I used a trail tech on my WR450. My EXR is geared 15/48 with a street biased 18” rear tire. Top speed with gps is 90+ mph (I haven’t had an opportunity to let it get to top speed but should be ~96mph). With 15/48 gearing my speedo reads ~20% low. I asked Alta (before they shut down) if there’s a...

    Converted 3 More

I took my 2019 EXR to the Scottsdale Pavilions Electric Car Show last week. Three bikes, mine and two zeros. One of the zeros drove up from Tucson. No one even knew Alta’s existed, but interest was high. I have a more qualified answer WRT it’s “one” of the best dirt bikes I’ve ever owned and by...

EcoBikeAdv to open an e-bike/e-moto park in the sierras

Yeah, that’s definitely a road sign, not sure if it portends the future, but it’s definitely a sign, and its a GREEN sign. :-)

    Glad you figured it out.

    MXR charging issue

My house line voltage drops from 119ish to 113ish (as measured by the monitor) and stays @ 114ish so... I was speculating the charger adjusts current based on initial conditions. I didn’t think it was related to supply line limits, but I’m not sure. I haven’t checked what it does when on my...

    MXR charging issue

If you want to do high voltage, I recommend you use a current clamp device like this. CrocSee AC 80-260V 100A CRS-022B LCD Display Digital Current Voltage Power Energy Frequency Power Factor Multimeter Ammeter Voltmeter with 100A Split Core Current Transformer...

    MXR charging issue

And all the monitor is going to do is tell you if the current draw makes sense relative to the feedback the display is telling you. I think the fact the fan isn’t turning on means you hear the relay pull in, but a contact isn’t making contact.

    MXR charging issue

Right, kill a watt only works for 110 vac, but it’s sounding like a bike issue not a charger issue.

    MXR charging issue

I have a P3 P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor. It’s a simple plug in monitor and costs less than $20, several HW supplies sell it. It reports, voltage, current, power factor, etc... point being at least you would know if the standard charger is drawing ~11.4 amps when charging or not...

    Sur-ron and Alta MX

They definitely sounded like they were having fun. I routinely giggle in my helmet too and let out an occasional grunt when coming up a bit short on something.

    Late to the party

Yup, Uly owner as well. Another extraordinarily functional motorcycle. An unexpected wheelie monster with outstanding suspension & handling, I loved that thing, even the motor... and I really do $@&#%^* hate Harley, so that says a lot. RD 350 owner from 1976 to 1983. Road raced in 81/82. Sold...

    Late to the party

Your questions have been answered, and you sound committed to the Alta purchase. I don’t think you’ll regret it. I bought my 2019 EXR a month prior to knowing Alta was having problems. I was shell shocked (as I’m sure everyone else was) when Alta announced the production shutdown and ultimate...
