I watched those. I was doing something wrong when entering the commands in. I was using the most recent updated commands as well. If I didn’t have kids to chase after and a little more time I’m sure I could figure it out.

Yep, I was trying to figure out a price with the unknowns this bike has. I’m sure it just needs the firmware update anyways. It’s never thrown any other codes or done anything weird.

I’m looking for a shark fin for my EX. Does the bullet proof designs one works on this bike? I know a lot of the parts on this thing are KTM. I just haven’t had any luck finding an answer on this one. Thanks

Did ALTA actually collect funds on these parts or do they receive payment upon delivery? Not sure how the motorcycle parts business works.

If they are going in the ABC direction the parts sell off would make more sense in hindsight. If this is the case hopefully the Alta guys bounce back eventually, I'll still be here riding my EX as long as it goes.

Over the years I've seen companies go out but I can't recall anything like this situation where the company shuts down but takes some parts orders and then sells inventory wholesale. If they have a possible deal on the line I guess its an ok way to do business but if their knowingly insolvent...

Not to mess the thread up but do the regular 2018 EXs with normal batteries throw any death codes rendering the bikes useless? I've been looking around but cant find much, just the MXR thread on code 36. I only have 30 miles on my bike and trying to figure out whether I should cash my chips in...

Looking through PACER I haven't seen any filings. I wouldn't be surprised if some lawyer somewhere has a class action suit worked up ready to go. I did give the Alta a quick spin Sunday and had a ton of fun, hopefully the pieces will get picked up by someone to provide service on these bikes...

So what are the go to spares, display, throttle tube, subframe and rear fender?

I’m worried to even give my EX a rip because I know the bike works right now. If I end up breaking something without any current support i’ll really be pissed about how Alta has completely ghosted their customers while they work out whatever their doing. I mean at the very least keep a service...

For now maintenance will be up in the air. If for some reason Alta does fully implode people will work out homebrew fixes for the electronics aspect of the bike and everything mechanical can be bought outside of Alta beside the plastics I'd imagine. I'm not sure what type of riding you're into...

Hahahahahah Awesome response and I agree their trying to work something out behind the scenes. I would have just liked a little better of a response towards owners and potential buyers. Something just to save face until they are hopefully bought out by the big orange machine!
