I have a 2017 Alta MX. I leave it up at our cabin and unfortunately haven't rode it in a couple years (due to lost keys). I recently ordered and replaced the ignition and sure enough, the bike is dead. I read a few posts on others with this issue. I see some people replace a 9 volt battery and others digging into the 12v side. I don't have any materials on the bike but have a decent knowledge of electricity.
Is there a trouble shooting guide for this?
Also, when I purchased the bike, I seem to recall having to have the bike on to charge. Am I misremembering or was that just bad advice?
Any help is appreciated.
FYI, the bike was in perfect condition when I last rode it.
