Someone with some other bikes in their garage please take some measurements to show that the ground clearance of this bike is any less than anything else. Not to the bottom of the footpegs, which we all agree stick down significantly farther, but to the bottom of the frame.

When comparing my MXR to my old 2007 RMZ450 and 2009 CRF450X they are all within a quarter inch measured on the wheels from the floor to the bottom of the frame.

I think the soft suspension adds to the low clearance, especially when the rider is on it.

my mx from where i put my stand its the same height as my 03 cr250, 2005 rmz450 all of my older kx250s, practically most of my bikes but my 2012 kx250 with procurcuit suspesion was lower. the part there the pegs go is what everyones talking about thats low its 1 1/4" lower than the frame where the stand sits and ive never liked that design even before i bought one.

Here is what I have in my stable. Three bikes, all on center stands that are 430mm tall. The F and R numbers are clearances under the Front and Rear tires:

2018 Alta MXR - F102mm R27mm = 64.5mm average
2005 CRF250 -- F82mm R15mm = 48.5mm average
1995 CR250 --- F5mm R112mm = 58.5mm average

The Alta has the tires that have the most ground clearance, so it has the lowest frame ground clearance. But it is not much lower than my two other bikes. However, notice the huge front wheel clearance! The bike sits way nose up compared to my other bikes. But when I lift it, I lift the rear end, not the front. On the Alta, in order to lift the whole bike 6 or 16mm more, you have to lift the rear end 14 - 36mm higher to have the bottom front of the skidframe clear the bike stand.

This is probably why they slant the frame on KTMs to have the bike sit with the front wheel on the ground -- It is easier to lift onto the center stand.

I just use a simple $12 triangle stand. I make fun of my kid and his friends all the time because theyre perfect image moto guys, and have to have their bikes on a stand at all times. I must be old and crabby, but the last thing I want to do after racing 200+ pounds of bike is lift it up on a stand to be cool like everyone else.

:ROFLMAO: I hear that! I only put mine on the center stand when I'm working on it, any other time it's the triangle. If Promoto ever does a kick stand for one of these I'll probably get one of those to be even lazier yet...

Harbor Freight dirtbike stand works very well on the Alta.
Mine needed a few tweaks (better bolts & pin, foot end bent up) but now it lifts smooth & easy. Depending on where I put it under the Alta frame rails, I can lift either or both wheels.

The kickstand was part of the reason I upgraded from MX to EXR. I decided years ago Ill never own another bike with a kickstarter and without a kickstand.

The throttle tube should be closed at the end. If you tear the grip the dirt will go straight into the throttle. Also, an open end makes it very difficult to glue on grips.
