For me, advanced modes is a game changer. I've only put 58 miles on my Varg EX so far but I am really liking what you can do here. I didn't even realize this feature was coming when I ordered it, and the idea of custom tuning the regen curve honestly never even crossed my mind until they released it. I feel like there are tons of possibilities and together we can find a perfect tune for every scenario! For every person.
I know I know, it sucks that advanced modes are locked behind a subscription. But we all get three months free so lets put that aside for this thread and focus on other pros and cons of advanced maps so we can try to make the best of them. If you want to share one of your modes make sure to post the power and regen curves along with a description of what your goals were and how its working. I'll go first:
Easy Enduro
The goal of this mode is to make the bike easy to ride in the first portion of the throttle but provide plenty of power to have fun in the later half. The regen curve follows the same pattern: more relaxed at lower speed and stronger and higher speed. I like a lot of regen personally but too much sets me off balance. I think some of this is a matter of needing practice and better throttle control so for now its on the low side. I plan to make a duplicate map that has different regen levels to practice and figure out a sweet spot.
I originally had slippery hill climbs in mind where tractions is more important than power, but after tinkering with it and riding OHV trails all day this is my default ride mode for now. It felt great on the OHV trails which have plenty of bumps, ruts and rocks, with some open stretches, but no big obstacles where the lack of initial power would matter. It will be great for the dual-sport riding I do as well which is of similar difficulty. Not so great for wheelies though.
