Auto up kickstand delete?

I took the kickstand off to see if the round 'auto up' collar was removable. It's not, so I put it back together as is.
Has anyone figured an easy way to delete this feature and allow the kickstand to stay down?

Yes, cut it off at the line, then drill a hole and add a screw like this photo to prevent it from swinging too far forward (not sure if necessary on the EX).

Stark side stand - eliminate auto return

Wondering if anyone has cut off the round cylinder to allow kick stand to not auto return. Looks fairly obvious that if I cut off the cylinder even with the kick stand, it should stay extended and not pop back automatically.

First thing I did on my EX as well but without the screw.
I don't know if the length is different, but I find it to be ok on my EX.

Yea, they fixed the issue that required the screw.
