Buying new or demo bike

I'm facing a bit of a dilema.

Today i sold my back-up 2 stroke (still have a 300 2 stroke though). But that leaves a gap in the garage and i will not stand for that!

However, my dealer has a Stark Alpha EX demo bike that entered registration April 2025 (so warranty started then. He has it for sale with just 500km and 20 hours, of wich a lott were standing still at motor shows. Still looks fresh and OEM tyres are still in top shape so no hard km's. He's asking €12.000 and a new Stark with the 80 hp i want is €14.200.
What do you think? Good deal or too close to new price to bother?

In the US, with other brands normally the warranty clock wouldn't start ticking on a demo until the bike was actually sold and MSO/Title signed over. You're loosing nearly a year of warranty, that's a personal call if the savings is worth that shorter warranty?

The warranty period can be prolonged 2 extra years for $999 according to Sam. If the spec of the demo bike is the same as you prefer, I would get the demo bike at the dealership.
However, if the spec (apart from 80hp) differs too much, then the end price could very well be similar or even higher than the asking price of a new one.
When I got mine, I bought a bike in stock at my (not so) local dealership instead of waiting for a newly produced bike matching my preferences. I got a new plastic kit (different color) for free and a foot rear brake kit at a discount, as the dealer obviously was more interested in selling the stock bike than ordering a new one for me.
