I rode one of these on the Fingers trails at Metcalf. Nice bike, wheels were too small.
I'll try to find out when their next demo is. fun bike. Big toy for some.possibly a great chick bike.

I always considered it either a chick bike, or light weight easy scoot about for someone with property like mine, kinda like the light bee.

The price point is what always turned me away, couldn't figure out what made it so much better. Since you have ridden one, would you consider it worth the premium?

with the wheels it has it is not yet a proper motorcycle. I think the KTM E Ride is better.

I agree with Butch, the Cake is a really nice ride, but its also in the price range of the Alta. You get way way more bike with the Alta.

Exactly! Slap some spruce veneer on the shiny bits, fasten it together with some fragile cam lock nuts, and include some misleading pictographic instructions with two missing steps, and you’ve got yourself a spiffy $13k Ikea electric coffee table.

It is probably a great bike, but not at the price of 3 Sur-Rons or two used Altas.

And those square edges everywhere, an invitation to destruction out on the trails. I do applaud them though, the bike has a niche somewhere and seems well designed and built from what I'm hearing.

Cake just rolled out their Kalk INK, which strips out the ohlins and different wheel sets for $3,500 in saving ($9.5k all in). Personally, I really the black.

Indeed, still a very tough sell, especially with Sur Ron pricing so much more aggressively.

For what it is, I like the design, and have had the chance to demo in-person. But make no mistake; you're not lining up for Erzberg on a Cake.

Lower cost option is a good idea, I hope they thrive and can get the prices down on both of their offerings over time.

Until the day battery costs drop to the point there a consumable....budget prices will never be a component on a Electric Motorcycle. I dont see any Ohlins suspension components on the bike..money sorta saved there?

Zero has an advantage here with possibly coming towards a better dirtbike and starting off with a dirtbike (Electricross) and also having close access to Hollister and private land in the SCZ area..but instead they went for a faired bike.....

Yes, the lower priced bike doesn't have the Ohlins, $3k savings right there.

And interesting you mention Zero possibly offering a dirt bike, I just emailed them the other day asking if they were planning on building and selling a full on dirt bike like an Alta and this is what they said. A shame they aren't considering it.

No plans in the works currently for a pure dirt bike.

We do sell the FX and with a few mods it makes a great trail bike.

With a single pivot aluminum swing arm the FX is not great for jumping.

If you are cruising the trials and not racing the FX is a great bike
