Handling fees?

Destination & Prep fees are an industry standard and are actually set by the MFG - we charge it on Ducati, Kawasaki, Suzuki also. Some dealers may build them into the price of the bike but that's usually not the case. Some dealers bump the destination fee even more and prep fee goes by hourly service rate so that also differs from dealer to dealer.

Destination is the Alta standard fee which they charge us (dealer) to have the bike shipped to us which is then passed to the customer.
Prep fee is to cover the service time techs take to un-crate and complete the mandatory pre-delivery check list from Alta.

The chargers were made "a-la-carte" to keep the MSRP price down and offer customers an option for a savings. The base charger can be converted from 110 very easily with just a standard wire end from Home Depot.

are there internal differences in the standard/fast charger or is it just the input male 110/240v plug?

There is quite a bit of confusion around the two chargers, some of which is complicated by us referring to them as standard/rapid and the way Alta refers to charging times on their website as standard vs. rapid. The “rapid” charger really means the 3.3kW charger that was designed for the R series bikes, and the “standard” is the 2.7kW that was the only option last year. Both can charge on either 110v or 240v, other than that they are very different. There is a good bit more detailed discussion about it in the chargers, generators, inverters sub-forum if you are interested.

Thanks for joining and for the info! In the car world, the factory pays the dealer a stipend for preparing the car and I've never paid it. Is it different in the motorcycle world?
