A newbie question here, but what does the middle map button do? The manual only mentions the up and down buttons, but not the middle one. Does it have a function, or a select feature? Or is it just an extra button.

Just an extra button.
Ptobably was originally meant to be used for future functions..

I heard it was gonna be for switching to reverse. Additionally, that the throttle has an additional function when rolled back past neutral. I wonder if that logs in MT.

Reverse was discussed, and yes, you will see negative throttle position.

If it was up to me, the middle button on the mode selector would activate a “hill-holder” function and rolling the throttle back past neutral would cause more regenerative braking...how cool would that be?!
