Righto. I thought fuck it and ask Stark directly what was in the update.

About the most boring answer ever...
Main:
-Improving GPS for ride mapping
-Improving lock feature.
Likely bug fixes as well.

My imagined regen was almost certainly a result of reading here, then the day before the update I removed my wheel for a tube and probably the bike back together better than previously... oh, and an oil change.

The GPS is terrible — you can’t even decide which route to take. I prefer using the bicycle mode or choosing between a few different routes on Google Maps with my Varg. Hopefully, they fix that soon. Because it's literally Google maps but shittier lol

They didn't even mention the changes in crawl mode and reverse crawl? was that imagined by all riders aswell? hahaha

You pay for their GPS? Waze and Wikiloc are the way to go!

They were referring to their ride mapping. When you look at the route you rode after the fact. Can't confirm or deny improvements.

Email I received stated "main enhancements". Doesn't mean they didn't tweak the code a bit to improve efficiencies. But, I even tested the crawl function yesterday, and I'll be damned if I could feel a difference. But again I never use it.

Likely the fixes were for the SM.

Stark Future won't publish meaningful change logs until they are pressured to do so.
The more customers ask and continue to ask for more details, the more the company has the chance to recognise it's absolutely relevant.
Thus, everyone keep opening tickets to ask for details of any new update; no matter if bike firmware, Arkenstone app or any other software

Easy method to test if the regen has been smoothed is to put it on +90 with high power +50 then try to open and close the throttle on a rough downhill.
If it's like before it will feel terrible.
If they sorted it it may feel less terrible.
If you can manage the the throttle transition smoothly you may qualify for the Blue Angles squad.

*All road riding voids the test and your man-card. :p

So far we have two opinions on the changes (yours and mine) and they are basically the opposite of each other - nobody else on the 1.5.0 that would care to give an impression? I mean, I'm fine if you tell me I just imagined all of that as I like how my bike runs now, but it still puzzles me how different such impressions can be. Could it be that one of the issues fixed on this firmware release is that previously Vargs would develop their own "personality" due to calibration issues with sensors for example and now they managed to get a more uniform feel between bikes? Can't think of much else other than the power of mind thing ...

My firmware update still hasn't been made available to me on my EX.
I remember one of the last updates were a guy from Finnland (I think) wrote about it something like 3 weeks before my bike would update. Like written somewhere above it would make sense to roll it out like that IF there was some kind of feedback from the early bikes - nevertheless since nobody from Stark has asked me about any feedback I wonder how this is handled

Has anybody ever been asked for feedback by Stark?
If there is some Beta testing group they are very, very secret.

It's not a good idea to change the throttle / power delivery without informing the owner.
It can be dangerous for track riders whose every input is precise and consistent. Clearing a climb or a jump is not the time to notice that the bike is behaving differently.

Why would they need to after factory testing? They can remote in to anyone's bikes at any time, check logs and go from there... We are the Beta testers.

Would also explain the staged updates. High users first, so errors can be sorted before full roll out.
