I read all the time about a problem I have had
The ice engine riders cannot here you coming
I noticed it when i let my mate ride my ice bike
trails then mx I would purposely go to the inside
them outside so i thought they had seen me

I rode my husky my mate on my surron
I could hear it screaming behind me
IT is more ice bike riders are listening for other ice bike noises
But i dont think we need to fit a horn
there is one on the surron though
scusee ebike coming through

Well if they are eating your roost you can make them taste your ebike --and neither they nor you will have to worry about hearing it.:ricky:

If you're going fast enough, you can't hear any bike coming the other way no matter how loud it is. The wind and tire noise is enough to make it hard to hear anything coming at you. I try to stop now and then and check if there are any bikes in the area.

The biggest problem I have on the e-dirt bikes is scaring the crap out of hikers, when I ride on multi-purpose trails. That and horse riders. I have tried putting bells on the bike to give them a little more warning, but the suspension is too good, doesn't ring the bells most of the time.

Honestly, I hate how loud my Stark is. The gear-whine is insanely loud and I feel like a criminal even when I ride below the speed limit, down public streets to get to my local riding area.

I absolutely loved my Zero FX belt drive for this reason. It was 100% silent. I tried running the belt off road for a long time because I just couldn't stand how loud the chain was. But after the 3rd broken belt in a year, which were $230 each, I gave up and went back to chain.

Can-am's new electric dual sports have enclosed chain drives that sounds like a great idea, too bad they are heavy, expensive and slow.
