Oops I did it again... Ok E community thanks for the add. So I bought a Rawrr Mantis today. What have I gotten into. This is my first ebike. Im a long time 2 stroke rider on KTM 300XCW's for the last bunch of years and was at the KTM shop today and saw this bike and picked it up. I know nothing about it. First time I've even seen it. Any idea what this thing is about. I know it not a real replacement for my full on single track use with my KTM but it looks like a fun scoot. Anyone have experience with it? I have a Stark offroad or 25 KTM e freeride in my future but until then. Thanks in advance.

I have a Surron Light Bee X in addition to my Stark and Alta. The little ebikes are fun enough (although the quality you kind of have to learn to ignore, unless it's the only one you've ever had). They're great for practicing lots of things related to the bigger bikes (wheelis, stoppies, pivot turns, brodies), but they do have a few limiting factors (but not enough to keep you off of them). I wouldn't go too crazy with upgrades (motor, esc, battery) since those tend to cost you more than just up and buying a better bike, but they've got a lot of cool little bolt-ons that can improve your experience.

I would say they're more like pit bikes or a Grom. You can ride them just about anywhere, so they're awesome for hoodlum shenanigans. Depending on where you live, they fly under the radar as long as you're not being too dumb on them.

Thanks for the reply, I road the Stark and was really impressed. Has your bike held up to expectations? Anyway to compare it to a KTM 300 it terms of quality or problems, maybe lack there of? The fuel injected 2 stroke KTM's definitely have there issues and I would really like to move to a ebike as my main single track bike. I ride in the east and the trails are considered eastern alpine technical single track. Average speed is about 16 to 24 MPH. We have a grass track as well. Was kinda defaulting to the Freeride but after riding the Snark I may change to give that a try? Liking the 2 year warranty too.
Thanks much

Last summer, while I was charging my Varg in between sessions in the parking lot of a track, I chatted a bit with a guy who was there with his son, who was riding a fuel injected 2 stroke KTM and he told me that there were some problems with updates of the ECU. I've also read, in some other forums, that some people still prefer carbed 2 strokes because of those problems. I'm pretty disappointed with that since a fuel injected 2 stroke sounds like something which needs less maintenance than other ICE bikes and I personally support any solution to reduce the maintenance of MX bikes keeping the other variables like cost and performance acceptable. I still believe that an electric motor is a better solution in that regard, though, even if there weren't those problems.
