Do the SM and MX/MXR use the same rear fender plastic? They aren't differnt parts, are they? Just making sure they are interchangeable.

They are and they arent.
The SM/EX/EXR fender has extra attachment points for the tail lights.

Thanks for the feedback. But other than the extra pair of screw holes at the rear, you should be able to put an SM fender on an MXR?

Hehe. This must have been me who started the rumor about the SM fenders being different. I saw a box of fenders at Liquid that said "SM Rear" and I thought they could be special.
My second MXR came with extra brass inserts for the tail light. They are not in the way of the tire, so you can use those fenders on anything.
