Rear wheel bearing clip

Has anybody replaced to their rear wheel bearings and is the clip missing on the brake rotor side?
There’s a groove for a clip that’s not there .

I am just guessing here, but that groove might be for retaining the wheel spacers.

Yes it is a retaining groove for the bearing.
Wrap 9 said they are not needed.

Not needed? Dont you remember Fog how my bike was screeching really bad and it was the bearings pulling out of the hub and causing the rear wheel to float and rub the brake caliper? I called warp9, they sent me the clip, and whalla....No more issues! My bike was missing the clip also....I didnt lose it. Call warp9 again...you talked to someone who must have been eager to leave work.

My bike did not have that clip either. I replaced the rear hub bearings late fall. I wondered about that clip, if it was needed, or if it was forgotten when assembled
